Good episode - nice to see Jo go along with them and be a Scully-in-distress that they had to rescue.

(Although with that ending relevation, I guess she won't be on another hunt with them anytime soon.)

I agree, good episode. I started watching this show last year towards the end and have really enjoyed it.

BTW, was that "original serial killer" guy based on a real person? I seem to remember seeing something somewhere about a real-life sicko in the late 1800s who built elaborate torture rooms into a building he owned, and then killed dozens of people there.

Good episode. Especially liked Dean's "ringtone".

"Cold as Ice" was a perfect song for the ride home too.

Did anyone understand why Dean made a face at the inscription on Jo's knife? It read W. A. H.

Episode and character based on the real-life H.H. Holmes. Google or Wiki for more info on "America's first serial kiler." One of his most notorious deeds involved building a "murder house" at the Chicago World's Fair. Some visitors were never seen again.

Ugh! Quite an extensive biography can be found here. What a freak!

Also, I thought Kim Manners did an superb job directing this episode. I was particularly impressed with the atmosphere and tension in the scenes with the serial killer ghost - especially the second abduction scene with the drywall breaking open. Kim Manners has always been a good director, going back to his days on The X-Files, but his work in this episode really stands out.

This show feels like the new X-Files.

Wasn't WAH the initials of Jo's father?

Check out the best-seller THE DEVIL IN THE WHITE CITY for a solid re-telling of his exploits and murders.

And yes, this is indeed beginning to feel a little like X FILES REDUX - I wouldn't be surprised to learn that some of the episodes are re-workings of unused scripts from X Files.

Loved the line about going to California ..."to rescue a woman kidnapped by an evil cult".

I thought it was good. Adding Jo and Ellen was a great idea.

For a second there I thought she was going to come out and say she was their half-sister, thankfully that didn't happen.
