Battlestar Galactica - "Collaborators" - 10/27/06
|
Spoiler:
|
Finally got caught up with the season last night and needless to say I'm stoked for everything this show gives me. I have already braced myself for an episode that doesn't take it all the way to 11. It doesn't seem humanly possibly to maintain the level of awesome that Exodus, Pt 2 brought.
I'm very interested in where Tigh, Starbuck, Baltar, and Hera go from here. And I wonder how long Jammer's betrayal go unnoticed... |
OMG, I can't wait!
|
Is it me or do the special effects look different in tonight's episode?
|
glad to see they didn't kill Gaeda

Since SciFi squished the end credits I couldn't see if Zoic was doing the effects; if they had, they've made something close to a quantum leap (no pun intended) in their usual great fare. Glad that ShakeyCam was still working, though. |
fantastic!!!!!
no, it's not the scotch talking......the show is back on the ship where it belongs, and we're back to the characters. this was the best episode of the last 6, really powerful.
yizzzaagagghhh!!!!! (now that's the scotch talking) |

Decent episode, but nothing on the level as we've already seen this season. |
Gaeta's really been impressing me this season.
Some of the things left a really bad taste in my mouth -- especially where you had military officers holding a secret court and kidnapping and executing civilians. But it was well-written and evenly balanced, so it presented moral and ethical dilemmas and showed both sides of the issue and presented the dangers involved in such a scenario. |
yes, gaeta has been one of my favorite characters since he came on.
i'd have been sooo mad if they had killed him off. |
Great episode, but how was Zarek now the President? Did I miss (or forget) some plot-point on this?

Well, so much for the "OMG, BSG is anti-American because it portrays terrorists and suicide bombers as heroes!!!!!111one" Yeah, the former resistance was looking really heroic tonight.
|
Four episodes in and not one disappointment so far! Happy they didn't kill off Gaeta!

Good episode. Liked the closing scene with the two of them eating together. |
Another excellent episode.. although, the preview for next weeks look like a bit of a borefest... but, we shall see!
|
Good episode, not anything like last week, but definitely one that progressed the story and didn't getting boring while doing so. I saw another Regeneration Ship in the Cylon fleet, so they are mobile again with thier reanimation. I guess it was assumed because of returns to New Capira we saw, but I thought I would just point that out.

Very good episode. It had a nice surprise moment when it was revealed by the Jury/Secret Court that it was authorized by the President (as opposed to being a vigilante group). For a small second, I was thinking "Oh crap, Rosalind authorized this?" Then I remembered Zarek was still president, and thought "Well, yeah he would do something like that". Shows how well the writers have developed characterization even for a guest spot :).
 to Gaeta for not begging for his life I also liked how the episode dealt with questions people had from the last episode, all within the first 10-15 minutes (Jammer, Baltar's presidential succession). Starbuck didn't get to vent her vengeance - looks like we're going to get some real destructive behavior from her soon. It'll be interesting to see how the pieces will fall back into place. Callie going to stay being a full-time mom? Sharon walking around as a crew member? Will Kat be Starbuck's CAG now? ;) |
I forgot to mention old man Adama's crack about Lee jumping rope was hilarious:lol:
|
Anyone else think that Adama looked strange this episode?
|
Who, the Old Man or Lee?
Lee looked a little orange. :) Decent episode, but I can't take Starbucks reactions/decisions sometimes. "I'm in a different place, so now when I look at you I want to beat your ass." C'mon, what a mood swing.....oh wait, she IS a woman. Man, the 'Galactica' writing is SPOT on! ;) |
I'd be shocked if Tigh kept his post for much longer.

Me too, but I'm loving this new Tigh...he's pure bad ass now...between face planting the one guy into the table and snapping back at The Old Man...he's come a long way from the bumbling drunk he used to be. Very much looking forward on how his and Starbuck's stories play out. Best line of the night though was Adama telling Lee "keep jumping" |
Tigh's development - hell, all of the characters' development - has been superbly written. We haven't seen Tigh take a drink in quite a few episodes, I wonder if he quit and is focusing his energy on revenge, or whether he is still secretly tipping the bottle.
