1) who is penny and what did she discuver at the end of season 2?
2) who is kelvin?
3) what hatch(es?) did the tailes discover other than the one they were using for a shelter? where did they discover a glass eye?

thanks in advance!

1) Desmond's gal. She had a couple guys monitoring the world for strange electromagnetic activity and they got a huge wake-up call at the end of season 2.

2) already answered

3) I think the tailies only discovered that one hatch and it housed the glass eye. Can't remember the name or the symbol of the hatch now.

can you please remind me who kelvin is? i read through this entire thread but didnt see much about him. thanks for the other answers so quickly!

"The Arrow."
http://www.lostpedia.com/wiki/Arrow

It only looked "undeveloped" when it was found by the tailies. It's unknown what it's use was for when Dharma was fully active in the past on the island. It's possible that it had some purpose other than just storage, but was cleaned out when Dharma left.

The other "undeveloped" station that cupcake jesus may be thinking of is The Door, which was literally a hatch door in a rockface in the fake Others' village on the shore that Sayid found. However, that was obviously a fake hatch planted by the Others, just like the whole village was.

Kelvin was the guy who rescued Desmond from the beach and was his partner in The Swan. He's also apparently the same man who taught Sayid to torture after the first Gulf War.

Just so there is no confusion the other hatches that were found (not by tailies):

Locke and Eko found the Pearl, which is the monitoring station underneath the Nigerian plane that Boone fell in.

Claire, Kate, and Rousseau found the The Staff where Claire was taken by Ethan.

The Hydra, where the Other's took Kate, Sawyer and Jack.

IDrinkMolson 10-30-06 11:10 AM

Holy crap, I just realized something. If the Hydra is a separate island, they have not shown us how they got Kate, Jack, Sawyer over there from the Ferry dock, without them knowing it was a different island. Michael already took the boat.

Hopefully we'll get a flashback or something to reveal that.

Bernard is still left, he's interesting, isn't he?

Preview Talk:

Spoiler:
It's clear now that the hatch on the monitor in the preview is the FLAME hatch, the one we haven't seen yet. I guess someone's still there

One of the Others mentioned a sub in this episode, which may help explain how they got to Desmond's boat without being seen. Also, Kate, Jack, Sawyer were all drugged and unconscious when they were transported to the Hydra Station. The season opener showed them all waking up in an unknown place, plus Juliet mentioned drugging Jack when she tried to give him food.

You're right. I forgot about Bernard. I liked their story. Hope to see more them this season.

IDrinkMolson 10-30-06 01:45 PM

Just remembered this too (just watched it again yesterday since the wife missed it), but Juliet says the crash cart is broke.
So, that leads me to believe they can't get supplies from the outside world, just information.

She also said they had never needed it before, which, although odd, means that it could be a case of oversight (they just never thought of replacing it, or gave it low priority) rather than inability.

Jimmy James 10-30-06 09:39 PM

We seem to think that they were saying something about communication being out since the sky turned purple, right? If that was an electromagnetic pulse, it may be that the crash cart was fried by it (or perhaps by the time when Desmond didn't push the button in time and the plane came crashing in).

Whatever happened to the sailboat? Didn't they say they were gonna take it back to the Galaga (submarine)?

Personally I love all of this Lost analysis... good or bad. I like reading what everyones opinions are and what theories they have. I really enjoy these threads that analyze each episode. Keep it up!!

Ah ha!
The cable MUST be the cable TV line they used to watch the World Series.

The name was apparently said in Episode 2. Although it was inaudible to most listeners, it showed up in the closed captioning for the episode.

http://www.lostpedia.com/wiki/Galaga

"(Colleen) DANNY, WAIT."
"THEY HAVE A BOAT."
"BEN WANTS US TO TAKE THE GALAGA AND RETRIEVE... (continues indistinctly)"
It's not necessarily the same vessel as the sub, although that's a likely guess.

movieking 10-31-06 01:30 PM

Not sure if it is was posted anywhere yet, but as most people here thought, Jae committed suicide a couple of weeks ago. It was confirmed on the last Lost podcast.

pinata242 10-31-06 01:40 PM

Isn't that considered a spoiler? I mean, isn't it possible they'll address it in the context of the show at some point?

movieking 10-31-06 03:57 PM

If you are talking about Jae's suicide, it was definitely not a spoiler. They were surprised that there were any thoughts that it was anything other than a suicide.

Patman 10-31-06 04:10 PM

Who's Jae?
