This is the season finale!

This episode airs Sunday at 10:30 p.m. EDT and again Monday at 2:30 a.m. on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim, or you can watch it now via streaming video at Adult Swim Fix.

Solid way to end the season, I think. Let's hope it gets renewed for Season 3.

Man, i hope the wait for Season 3 isnt as long as it was for Season 2.

I need to find me some more Venture Brothers merchandise, I wish there was a decent Monarch t-shirt out there.

It's one of Cartoon Network's most successful shows, a 3rd season is pretty much a lock.

I think you're right. When I rewatched this episode I caught a line in the closing credits that read "The Venture Bros. will return."

I'm salivating to have this season on DVD.

I wonder what Dr. Girlfriend said to The Monarch.

Man, that was a solid kick-ass finale. And David friggin' Bowie! :lol:

Here's hoping we get another Xmas episode or something like it to tide us over until the Season 2 DVD and the start of Season 3.

Maybe Brock was right about her, and that she really is a dude.

She can't be a dude. The Monarch just hit that!

Great finale. So many funny lines in it too. :lol:

Best part was Nien Num sitting next to Dr. O in the X-1.

I loved the battle between Bowie, Iggy Pop & Klaus Nomi... How many people even know who they *are* anymore?

Also, it's great to see Dana Snyder getting more work, although I'm not sure his character (The Alchemist) has much purpose at this point, or whether he'll return... (We were buddies & occasional roommates in college; MasterShake was his first big break...)

Maybe they want us to believe that is what she told The Monarch. ;)


Who is Klaus Nomi? What group was he in?

He was a 80's new wave solo act out of Germany, in style similar to Lene Lovich or Nina Hagen, if those mean anything to you... Sort of an operatic cabaret costume-punk...

Both Iggy and Klaus worked with Bowie at various points in their careers; I think he co-produced albums for both...

Oh, and Klaus was never in the Stooges... :)

Was that actually Iggy or Bowie doing the voices? I missed the credits.

When Bowie showed up in part one, they put a "celebrity voice impersonated" disclaimer on the screen.

Bowie was voiced by James Urbaniak (who does Dr. Venture).

Iggy was voiced by Chris McCullough (who does Hank, Monarch, etc.).

Still don't know who the guy is. I'm guessing i've never heard anything he did.


However, Bowie totally gave him a major smackdown.

Actually, Bowie never produced a Nomi album. Nomi sang backup for Bowie on a couple of occasions.

Stupid trivia note: Klaus Nomi's cause of death was AIDS in 1982. He was the first public figure to enjoy this distinction.

I'll have to watch this show now. I'd love to see Kluas, Iggy, and Bowie have a throwdown.

You probably haven't, unless you're into obscure 80s new wave. Klaus' biggest hits were After the Fall, and The Cold Song. He also sang a wicked cool version of "Ding Dong the Witch is Dead", singing all the parts including the falsettos. I first heard about Nomi when I was watching Nightflight on the USA channel back around '86.

Klaus appeared as a back up singer for Bowie on SNL back in '79, and this seems to be the thing that got him "known".
