Threshold on SciFi. is this a joke

The show was only on for 5-6 episodes, why bother reshowing it
or did I miss an announcement about sci-fi continuing the show

Damfino 10-13-06 11:50 AM

there were several completed episodes that were never aired. I actually liked the show and am looking forward to the unaired ones, but be warned that the story line probably won't have any closure.

SciFi has played plenty of series that only lasted a short while. They had the new Night Stalker on not that long ago and I think that one didn't even last as long as Threshold.

edit: tv.com says 13 episodes were produced for Threshold and 10 of Night Stalker

The best part of the old SciFi channel was their 'Series Vault' where they would burn through an entire failed series in a day or two. If this is a prelude to bringing something like that back, then more power to them.

Sure it does, this is how they do it
Spoiler:
at the end of the final eps there is a 2 min sequence tacked on that wraps it all up

this is what happens
Spoiler:
a little kid tells the main character they'll win the battle but she won't survive to see it

See all nice and wrapped up -ptth-

Better than nothing, but no real closure at all.

Ted The Bug 10-13-06 06:01 PM

Don't listen to him

This was a good show that got off to somewhat of a rocky start after the pilot but got better as it went.

If you only saw the 9 episodes that aired on CBS, you missed a satisfying final 4 episodes. I'd definitly recommend checking them out if you liked the 9 that aired.

Plus.... Carla Gugino...

Damfino 10-13-06 06:21 PM

I'm not reading the spoilers but, where were the last 4 episodes previously shown?

At the very least on the DVDs. I'm not sure if they ever aired on an alternate channel or not.

I never saw them. And now that it's a year later I find I have absolutely no desire to seek them out. No disrespect to those who enjoyed the show. I watched every episode and wanted to like it, but in the end, I just couldn't muster the energy to be displeased when it was canceled.

The last 4 episode were aired overseas. (A lot of shows that were cancelled in the US have their entire run aired overseas: Joey, Kitchen Confidential, The Inside are 3 shows that comes to mind).

Damfino 10-13-06 07:57 PM

I didn't know the show was released on DVD. It fell off of my radar completely after being canceled, so now I'm just curious to see the rest of it.

Original Desmond 10-13-06 08:46 PM

Yeah the eps unaired hit the net cos they were shown in the UK

Not much resolution at all, shame was a good show

Flatlander 10-13-06 11:50 PM

I'm glad. I am one of the few that totally enjoyed this show. I really enjoyed the characters and appreciated characters that actually tell the truth to each other. Most shows frustrate me when the writers keep stories going by having the main characters keeping secrets from each other but this one actually made them a team. Especially since they couldn't really see their family.

I forgot the other episodes were on the DVD set, I am going to pick it up.

It ran for 9 episodes and had a small following. I liked it a lot... It had a good premise and the opening two hour episode(s) was excellent. I enjoyed the solid cast as well. Carla Gugino (always nice to see her ;)), Brent Spiner, Charles Dutton, Peter Dinklage..

I still have to pick up the DVD set, but it's nice that Sci Fi is playing the show. It deserved a wider audience.

mikehunt 10-15-06 09:53 PM

so they'll show the unaried eps?
that's good, maybe I'll watch it again then
