What was the first tv show you ever remember watching?
 

Me all of 5 yrs old remember watching The Flintstones-guessing 1960.

The Flintstones and Jetsons for me...but more so in the '90s (born in '82). Those may be the few cartoons that still resonated with kids 30 years later. They didn't look dated at all, at least to me.

Also, the Disney Afternoon when it was DuckTales, Gummi Bears, Rescue Rangers, and Tale Spin.

Mine's The Incredible Hulk. I was 3 or 4 and my dad loved that show. I remember he let me watch an episode with him and it scared the shit out of me for quite a long time.

Micky Mouse Club (70's version or maybe reruns if there was no 70's version -not sure). I do remember Dukes of Hazzard/CHIPS being on at some point but don't know the year.

I remember like my entire family gathering around the TV for 'The Simpsons' from the very beginning... and since I was like 2 at the time I didn't really have any say in what we were watching (not sure if I even watched it as much as watched the color changes)... but now 17 years later I still watch the series every week...

But the first show I conciously watched was BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER... I was 9-years-old when it premiered on the WB back in March of 1997 and I watched every episode on its first run for all 7 years... my parents joke by calling BUFFY my 'gate way drug' because I became obsessed with television after branching out from BUFFY...

Ultraman.

First show I remember besides cartoons were Newhart, Riptide, and Miami Vice.
Cartoons I believe were He-Man and Scooby Doo

sesame street and the berenstein bears circa 1985. i was 2.

I thought the Berenstein Bears were just in the books!! holy crap!!

the real ghostbusters, ninja turtles, dino-riders, dinosaucers, denver the last dinosaur. Dont remember what one was first but those are probably the oldest ones I remember as a kid

The first show I remember watching when I was like, 4 or 5, was V the miniseries.

Batman 60s reruns,Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is what I can remember.

Oh and I Love Lucy.

The Invaders. I was very impressed by the way the aliens disintegrated when they were killed with the ray guns. Another early favorite was Gunsmoke.

I also liked watching Julia Child, Walter Cronkite, and Masterpiece Theater with my mom when I was little. I had no idea how wierd that was. I remember really looking forward to The Six Wives of Henry VIII (six wives! how was that possible?! and he beheaded two of them!) and getting special dispensation to stay up late and watch it while my parents were out. Our poor babysitter. :lol:

Strangely, "Alice". Syndicated reruns were on in the afternoon and my cousin and I watched it with my Grandma every day after kindergarten.

Barnaby, a local cartoon host on Saturday mornings. He was an alcoholic that talked to an invisible parrot. Played a lot of Popeye cartoons.

After school was Captain Penny , another local host. Mostly short films and cartoons. Followng Captain Penny was Roger Ramjet.

I don't have any specific memories of childern's programming. The first 'grown-up' shows I remember were things like <i>Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In</i>, <i>Mission: Impossible</i>, and <i>The Smothers Brothers Show</i>. Man, TV in the late-60s was weird.

I vividly remember watching the video for "Thriller" when I was 3. It scared the hell out of me.

I would say Sesame Street and Reading Rainbow. From there, I quickly graduated to I Love Lucy and The Twilight Zone reruns... maybe that's I like black and white movies so much...
