Shows in which the lead character talks to the camera
 

Okay, i'm trying to compile a list of shows in which the lead character talks to the camera at certain points throughout some episodes. Not even every episode, just sometimes.

At the moment, the only one I can think of is Zack on "Saved by the Bell", even though I know there are probably quite a few more. I'm just drawing a blank.

What about something like that 70's Show, where they often have people talking directly to the camera, but not exactly breaking the 4th wall?

Nah, i'm talking about characters actually breaking the 4th wall and talking to the audience as if they are aware of the audience being there.

The Phil Hartman/Bill McNeal stuff at the beginning and end of the Newsradio episodes Space and Sinking Ship might qualify depending on your exact criteria and whether you'd consider him the "lead".

I think Rod Serling appears as a character in one Twilight Zone episode where he steps in to do his thing but one of the characters in the story interacts with him.

Though the character only "breaks the fourth wall" in one episode by looking right into the camera, does Scrubs qualify?

IIRC, usually just in the filler at the beginning or end of an ep (Moonlightling was notorious for coming in short).

Tho I can recall one time in mid-ep Maddie and David were having a huge argument and David kept using 'frick' in lieu of the F-bomb. Maddie finally just stops him and screams "What's a 'frick' anyway?" David replies "I have no idea........ but THEY do.", and both of them do a slooooow turn to the camera......

It's Gary Shandling's Show was the first one I thought of

Missing from the Wikipedia list is My World And Welcome To It an acclaimed but short-lived early 70s show about a cartoonist (played by William Windom) who found his inspiration from domestic situations and usually punctuated each episode by looking at the camera and saying, "That's my world and welcome to it". (I hadn't thought of this show in years and I'd love to see it again from an adult perspective).

Do the voiceovers in Scrubs and The Wonder Years count?
