So if anybody else needs another reason to love this show I just found another.

I watched the premier on Monday before the finale' and then just now had a hankering to keep on watching. Currently on ep 2, "The Great Doctor Brown", and came to the Thaw Fest. Not only did they pull out the ferris wheel for the finale, but they also pulled out the same theme that was played at the end of "Forverwood" for the scene.

I amlost lost it again. :(

The creators of Everwood had a backup plan. If the show was to get cancelled which it did it would airs the scenes without Madison if it got renewed she prob would of appeared at the end of the episode. But since it got cancelled by those jerk at The CW, Madsion's scene did not air. The still had the footage so in the promo they prob put her in to pull more ratings prob.

I don't know if this is true or not. I don't have a source but I heard that ABC Family will be syndicating Everwood Season 1 - 4. This is the only way we can record every episode again. If someone knows the truth please find the source.

boredsilly 06-07-06 07:53 PM

I can't wait for this to hit syndication as I missed most of season 3.

onebyone 06-07-06 07:58 PM

I thought it was a perfect ending (if we had to have one). I cried, I laughed, I was pleased that they showed respect for the show and the fans up until the end. God I am going to miss this show.

Even though we got a good conclusion, I still feel like Everwood fans had it too good and got the TV Gods mad at us somehow. I mean, they up and renew 7th Heaven and cancel our show, and then they turn around and go "neaner neaner, and you aren't getting any DVDs either." Damn.

Project Ferris Wheel--

Currently, there is a new campaign dubbed Project Ferris Wheel and it involves raising money to rent a ferris wheel and station it outside of Dawn Ostroff's office. You can donate through PayPal. Donations thus far in less than 24 hours have reached nearly $2,300.

Please see the following page for more information if you care to help.

If someone can verify, that would be excellent. I could have my bro tape these for me on his dvd recorder. :)

Per a Media Week article --

ABC Family Gets Everwood Off-Net Rights

Anthony Crupi

SEPTEMBER 21, 2005 -

ABC Family has snapped up the off-net rights to The WB’s family drama Everwood.

The multi-year pact with Warner Bros. Domestic Cable Distribution will see Everwood make its cable bow in fall 2006.

Also included in the licensing deal is a slate of movies from Warner Bros. that includes Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, Practical Magic and Scooby-Doo.

Financials were not disclosed.

Everwood is being positioned as a tentpole series for ABC Family, which has enjoyed success with similar off-net franchises like Gilmore Girls and Wildfire.

The problem is that some of the actors are already landing work on other shows, so it's harder to keep the cast together when they were informed about the show not returning.

Thanks cie37! That was a great finale.

schmedy 06-11-06 03:44 PM

My wife is soooo pissed that this didn't get picked up. I liked it ok too, it was one of the shows we watched together. She loved 7th Heaven too but was all set to let the go when they said it was gone and wants Everwood back, I told here to write letters. Anyway good episode, sad to see the show gone.

Jimmy James 06-11-06 05:44 PM

The more I think about it, the more I think that the viewers are really the only folks who seem to care all that much. The actors are moving on (and I'm not trying to attack them for doing so). Rita Mimoun moved on really quickly to bolster a show that is honestly more important to me than Everwood that probably really does need her. Berlanti is signed on elsewhere. If those who created the show didn't want to make more of a push to save the show, I think I'm inclined to let it go in light of the excellent series finale.

Andie 06-12-06 11:01 PM

I'm really sad to see this wonderful, well-written show go to waste. All because of 7th Heaven - a cheap show made to please the intellectually challenged. :(

Also, why is it they kept Veronica Mars and One Tree Hill. Everwood had twice as high ratings as those two. I mean, I like those shows too, but Veronica Mars second season was very weak. One Tree Hill is one of those shows that is a guilty pleasure, it's pretty poorly written but has a lot of drama which can be entertaining at times.

I have pretty much given up hope on The CW coming to their senses and renewing it, but I hope that everyone at least get off their asses and buy the first season on DVD so that we get to see all four seasons on DVD. That is the most important thing to focus on, I think.

Anyone know what Greg Berlanti is up to now? I really hope he makes a new show that gets picked up.

Chauzer 06-12-06 11:30 PM

veronica mars is one of the best shows on tv.. shouldnt even be put in the same sentence as one tree hill. season too was different from season 1 but still great

I don't quite agree about that, but still, my point being that both Veronica Mars and OTH's latest seasons had very low ratings. Lower than Everwood, yet they decide to renew both those shows... Strange indeed, you might think that the logical thing would be to just dump one of those and renew Everwood (although the best thing would have been keeping both those shows, dumping 7th Heaven - and renewing Everwood).

I still love Veronica Mars (but thought season 2 was weaker), but I agree with you on this. That they kept two lower rated shows and pulled another two back from the grave (Reba was also cancelled and then saved) and cancelled Everwood doesn't make any sense unless the rumors are true and it all had to do with politics.

cie37 06-13-06 12:20 AM

So far Project Ferris Wheel has raised about $5200. That's the latest update.

Everwood has fallen in the rankings on Amazon to around #40. If you can purchase a dvd or another one for a friend or to donate to a local library, please do so.

Kristen posted this on her (eonline) chat today--

tvqueen114 asks: ok so you mentioned everwood last week, but now you have to talk about how you felt about the finale. No board posting no nothing. i know i was crying to two and half straight hour, yes that includes extra time for after the show. but i'd love to know what you thought of it.

Kristin_Veitch replies: To be honest, I was too upset to write anything after it ended. I'm not kidding. I was a ball of tears and CW angst. I thought the finale was perfect and beautiful and expertly done ... Especially that Ferris wheel scene. I'm still in denial it's really ending.

illergirl asks: Everwood! Please tell us. Any hope?

Kristin_Veitch replies: Although I haven’t heard any confirmation of talks with the CW re-opening, I absolutely adore the new fan campaign. You’ve heard of it, right? Some genius fans are raising funds to rent a Ferris wheel and put it outside Dawn Ostroff’s office. If you saw the finale, you know why this rocks so hard. You can get the details here: http://www.everwoodmusic.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1264. Also, Korbi just ran into real-life lovebirds Chris Pratt and Emily Van Camp! Korbi, care to share with the rest of the class?

watcherwil asks: Will you go ride the Ferris Wheel in honor of Amy & Ephram?

Kristin_Veitch replies: Name the day. I'm there.

For the rest of the chat, see here..

Wait...Chris Pratt and Emily Van Camp are an item?

Patman 06-13-06 07:15 AM

That's scandalous! :D

Ayre 06-13-06 07:52 AM

That's incest! -eek-

Patman 06-13-06 08:15 AM

That's one lucky guy, that Chris Pratt!!!

Goldberg74 06-13-06 10:15 AM

I'm still in denial and the finale remains unwatched on my TiVo. I just can't bring myself to watch it. Once I do, Everwood is over.

Maybe it will end for me tonight.

Ayre 06-13-06 02:47 PM

There is such a huge difference in the quality of writing from the first season to the last. One of the things I attribute to the demise of Everwood is Berlanti pulling away from the project. The great pilot for the series and my favorite "The Unveiling", were both written by Berlanti.

When Rina Mimoun took over the quality of the show dropped substantially. It went from being a serious examination of the family relationship, most notably father son, to the romantic giggle fest the final season was. It doesn't surprise me any that Rina Mimoun went to Gilmore Girls. There were several scenes with Amy and Hanna, that felt like they could have been from GG. Especially when Hanna went on a speed talk binge.

I was shocked but not surprised that Berlanti didn't have a writing credit in the finale, none of it felt like his style.

The huge disparity between season 1/2 and 3/4 really illustrate Berlanti was Everwood. He went on to do Jack & Bobby, which IMO had a much much better finale. I honestly say that the J&B Finale was the best hour of TV I have ever watched. Talk about a tear jerker.

I am not happy that Everwood ended, but lets hope the real heart of Everwood lives on through a new series by Berlanti at ABC.

Ayre 06-16-06 01:14 PM

New Berlanti interview:

Goldberg74 06-18-06 01:45 PM

Finally watched it.

:(

It ended how I hoped it would. All smiles and warm fuzzies.

Superman07 08-23-06 08:15 AM

FYI - still missingi t.

I dread the TV landscape this fall. Especially next year now that other shows are apparently already getting the axe for the 07-08 season... :(

Everwood on ABC Family - Weeknights

Just a reminder to fans who might be interested. ABC Family just started broadcasting Everwood last night, beginning with the Pilot episode. It airs M-F at 6pm EST. I am hoping that good ratings MIGHT spur WB to release the remaining seasons on dvd. Perhaps, this is wishful thinking but you never know.

Superman07 10-03-06 04:54 PM

:( How I miss thee. Fall without an Everwood premier. :(

I know. It sucks.

Autotelik 10-04-06 01:08 AM

Is it shown in widescreen on ABC Family? (Oh wait, the first season was shot fullscreen, as I recall..... but does anyone know whether the subsequent seasons will be 16x9?) I don't have ABC Family, but may call the cable company to add a bunch of channels to include that.

cie37 10-04-06 06:10 PM

I don't know. Unfortunately, I don't have cable either at this time.

E

uhftv 11-05-06 06:36 AM

Cant believe I had to wait 4 YEARS to see the 2nd season premiere, as I missed it the first time around and didnt really follow it till midway through the season. It just aired this past Thursday and watched the tape last night.

Resolves the big cliffhanger from the end of the 1st season. Which reminds me of all the people who picked up the dvds and are left hanging, since they dramatically asserted NO MORE Everwood seasons for dvd production.

Great show.

It should be on tv.

Chauzer 09-01-07 10:14 PM

just watched the series finale again, soo gooood

Superman07 09-04-07 05:37 PM

Random bump, no? However, it's Everwood so I'll let is slide. ;)

Still no word on dvds?

Is ABC Family still showing reruns, or was that a one-off event?
