House - "Lines in the Sand" - 09/26/06

Tuesday, Sept. 26 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT). (HOU-304) (TV-PG L)

House tried to decipher an autistic boy's signals in order to diagnose what is causing him to scream.

According to the main website this will be the last episode to air at 8:00PM EST/7:00 Central, after tonight it will be airing 9:00 EST/8:00 Central.

I fully expect House to not only cure the kids screaming, but his autisim as well.

Anyone know the reason for the switch back to 9 PM?

Timber 09-26-06 06:55 PM

So what does that mean for Standoff?

I just started watching this show with the season premiere and liked it so much that I went out and got season 1 and am already 8 episodes in. Question? Does every episode follow the same formula? Paitent with strange problem, wrong diagnosis, treatment that doesn't help and sometimes makes things worse, resolution.

As it stands now this is probably my second favorite show on TV (until Lost comes back) and it's going to suck to lose it for baseball season.

Did "Grey's Anatomy" get it wrong?

Are we stopping here so House doesn't find us?
Unless you want to make out...

There's numerous exceptions to this, some of the best episodes don't follow the formula at all. It does follow a general structure, usually, but the writing and wit (and hell, heart) make up for it.

Enjoyed this ep.

"If I forget about my carpet, can I have her?"

Great episode. ;)

Somewhat interesting case, only in the way House found a way to connect with the austistic kid, by accident or not. The jailbait subplot still has this uneasiness to it, and it doesn't appear that it's going to end up all that well when the show comes back from the baseball-coverage-imposed hiatus.

I missed this one, again, due to sleeping. I'll be much happier when it moves back to 8pm Mountain.

Huh? I think the jailbait subplot is over. He diagnosed it as a medical condition. I'm not even sure she'll be back unless you're talking about something from previews that I didn't watch.

Verry funny episode this week. Cracked me up every time Wilson stepped into his office.

collven 09-27-06 04:20 AM

I loved his reaction to the gas.

Good ending w/ the kid.

It was fun seeing what he room he would be in next.

House wasn't be snarky there, he was probably referring to the medical textbook Gray's Anatomy, rather than the TV show.

It was great how House and team just moved from room to room with their meetings. Surprised that although me mentioned Cuddy's cleavage, he took no notice of her gams when she put them up on the desk.

Of all the ways for the jailbait plot to end, I never thought it would be about her having a medical condition.

I got the impression that the medical condition was made up to get rid of her... or are you channeling Groucho?

It didn't seem like he made it up, she was crying milky tears.

kvrdave 09-27-06 10:56 AM

Great episode. Great handling of the teen nympn (if it is over), great using all the different room, great reaction to the gas, etc. Other than an average case, this was one of the best.

House was referring to the textbook; the writers were being snarky.

The script could have been a placebo, acetaminaphin (sp?) or something for menstrual cramps. ;)

I thought that he was obviously lying to her, first he gives her the Casablanca dialogue, then he was so over the top with the whole "damn, damn" stuff.

I agree. It didn't even dawn on me she could really have been sick.

Charlie Goose 09-27-06 02:24 PM

The girl was sick. Didn't you see the milk coming out of her tear ducts?
