What profession are you sick of seeing in TV shows?
For me, they gotta stop creating shows about Lawyers and Doctors. There's been an overkill the last few years.
|
Oh I think I know what the overwhelming response will be.
I'll go with know-it-all detectives/agents. There were too many when Goren was the only one. ;) |
Paper salesmen!
j/k Definitely lawyers. |
I voted cops before I even saw anything else. I don't think cops and feds need to be seperate categories. As far as tv goes they aren't very different and plenty of shows use both working the same case. If you combined cops and feds I think they'd outnumber all the rest combined. There are plenty of new lawyer shows this year, but I doubt they will last.

Midget hookers.

When I read the thread title, I immediately thought: Cops, Doctors, and Lawyers. |
Greeting card illustrators. Definately.

There are plenty of stories to be told involving doctors, lawyers, and cops. The problem is that we seem to get the same stories over and over again. Why not have a show about a legal aid lawyer that isn't preachy? A podiatrist? A traffic cop? There are stories to be told about each if the right people are involved.

This is why The Wire is the best show currently on TV. |

The Lyons Den and Just Legal lasted all of 6 weeks combined. |
The show could be about a detective MD who tries cases at night for thr FBI as long as the writing is good and the actor is up to the challenge.

I think I'm sick of Doctors most - not because I've seem more of them than other types of characters, but because I find them and their profession completely uninteresting. Though I watch and love both Scrubs and Nip/Tuck - I guess because those shows are more about their characters than their profession.

Detectives--specifically, smarmy know-it-all detectives. Yes, I believe Law & Order: Criminal Intent is the worst show ever.
|
We need a show where and guy gets out of the military, goes back to school and gets a law degree for medical issues, then in his off time from being an smarmy know-it-all DEA agent he fights fires as a smoke jumper..
his wife works as a paper salesmen (after being fired from her greeting card illustrator job) but she side lines as a hooker, because being a midget she makes big $$$$$. Money she uses for her hobby......... being a forensic mastermind. Title of the show? "Big Smoke Small Fire" rating gold I tell ya!! GOLD!! :P as for the poll, doctors.. never really been a fan of medical shows. |

I said doctors just because whenever I see a new show centered around doctors I always groan a little bit. Even though I've heard nothing but good things about it, that's why I have never seen an episode of House, I just didn't want to get into another medical show. I now watch Scrubs, but as someone else said, I see that as more of a character-driven show than a medical show. I also started watching and caught up with Grey's Anatomy last season, but am starting to lose interest in it as well.

i'm tired of all the real estate house flipping shows more than anything else.
