They should kick off a season starting the day at nighttime again like in season 1.

That'll do, Karen. That'll do.

Is "Audrey" coming back, now that she's busy with The Nine?

Michael Corvin 10-13-06 10:26 AM

Yes. From what I've read she will be pulling double duty working on both shows. 24 seems pretty flexible in that area, so she will probably just have a limited role.

We're assuming she even needs to pull double duty. Aren't the ratings for "The Nine" mediocre right now?

Speaking of casting news, I caught over on Zap2It that Eddie Izzard is no longer slated to appear in Season 6. That sucks.

Alliant 10-13-06 01:29 PM

It's the Jack Bauer show now....all the important characters are gone. It really doesn't even feel like the same show anymore.

They really should just rename the show "The Later Adventures of Jack Bauer" because thats all it is now....just showing what one character from the show is up to after the big story arc ended(Season 1-3).

What an idiotic decision they made to kill off Tony last season. I'm not even gonna watch the premiere of Season 6.

EMMY AWARD NOMINEES JEAN SMART AND GREGORY ITZIN RETURN FOR ANOTHER DAY ON 24

Season Six Premieres with 2-Night, 4-Hour Event Sunday, Jan. 14, and Monday, Jan. 15, on FOX

The midterm elections are over, but the political drama is heating up on FOXs 24 with Emmy nominees Jean Smart and Gregory Itzin set to recur in 2006s most Emmy Award-winning television series. The clock for Day Six starts ticking with a highly anticipated 2-night, 4-hour television event Sunday, Jan. 14 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) and Monday, Jan. 15 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. The shows regular time period premiere is Monday, Jan. 22 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT).

In Season Five, Itzins PRESIDENT CHARLES LOGAN masterminded the unthinkable, including the assassination of former President Palmer, and pitted himself against his wife, the pill-popping, petulant FIRST LADY MARTHA LOGAN, portrayed by Smart. Although the conniving First Couple survived the days horrific events, Day Five concluded with the First Lady covertly recording President Logans confession of his misuse of power. As the situation and their partnership unraveled in the final minutes of the day, President Logan was taken into custody by his own security agents, while Chinese government agents captured JACK BAUER (Kiefer Sutherland) and beat him bloody aboard a tanker headed for points unknown.

24s Season Six will feature WAYNE PALMER (DB Woodside), the strong-minded brother of the late President David Palmer; SANDRA PALMER (Regina King), a determined and powerful advocacy lawyer; presidential advisors KAREN HAYES (Jayne Atkinson) and THOMAS LENNOX (Peter MacNicol); and CTU colleagues CHLOE OBRIAN (Mary Lynn Rajskub), CURTIS MANNING (Roger Cross) and BILL BUCHANAN (James Morrison).

In addition, this season welcomes newcomers Powers Boothe (Deadwood) as Vice President NOAH DANIELS; James Cromwell (Six Feet Under) recurring as PHILLIP BAUER, the estranged father of Jack Bauer; as well as Kal Penn (Harold & Kumar), Marisol Nichols (In Justice), Alexander Siddig (Syriana), Harry Lennix (Commander in Chief) and David Hunt (Everybody Loves Raymond) as villainous accomplice DARREN McCARTHY. Eric Balfour and Carlo Rota will reprise their respective roles as CTU contractors MILO PRESSMAN and MORRIS OBRIAN.

24, created by Joel Surnow and Robert Cochran, is a production of Real Time Productions and Imagine Television in association with 20th Century Fox Television. Joel Surnow, Robert Cochran, Howard Gordon, Evan Katz, Jon Cassar, Kiefer Sutherland and Brian Grazer are the executive producers.

There are no real spoilers, but just to be on the safe side.

James Cromwell (Six Feet Under) recurring as PHILLIP BAUER,
Damn. I was so hoping for them to bring in Donald for this role.

I think this is EXCELLENT news on the new CTU agent joining Jack!!!

Spoiler:
Schroder joins '24'

Thesp pulls shift at Fox

By JOSEF ADALIAN

Rick Schroder
Schroder

Former "NYPD Blue" star Rick Schroder has a new beat, joining the cast of Fox's "24."

Schroder has signed on for a regular role on the skein, which returns for its sixth season next month. He'll play CTU operative Mike Doyle, teaming with Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) to pull off key field operations.

Other new cast members include Chad Lowe, Regina King, Powers Boothe, Peter MacNicol, James Cromwell, Kal Penn and David Hunt.

Most recent regular TV gig for Schroder was Lifetime's "Strong Medicine." He spent three seasons on "NYPD Blue" as Det. Danny Sorenson.

On the film side, Schroder's recent credits include "Poolhall Junkies" and "Black Cloud."

Michael Corvin 12-27-06 11:16 AM

Cool. I think he did a great job on NYPD:Blue. He went toe-to-toe with Sipowicz, he should be able to hold his own against Bauer. ;)

TheMovieman 12-27-06 01:33 PM

OT, but you think this will be the last season for Sutherland and replace him with Schroder (a la, IIRC, the Metal Gear Solid game)? If not, how much longer can they keep him on board, I mean he's got to be the unluckiest person EVER.

McHawkson 12-27-06 01:37 PM

Is he from Silver Spoon?

He signed a contract extension for 3 seasons. I believe that was during season 4. If so, Sutherland has one more season after 6.

He's the one. But if you saw him on NYPD Blue he was superb, and I think this is casting genius. Can not wait...

DJariya 12-27-06 01:52 PM

Schroder was really good as Danny Sorensen on NYPD Blue. I remember they killed him off that show because he wanted to spend more time with his family on his farm in Colorado. I wonder what made him change his mind about working in L.A. again.

Anyways, he's a solid addition to the cast.

riley_dude 12-27-06 03:01 PM

I think that may have been the excuse he used after leaving NYPD Blue. From what I read they were writing scripts at the last minute for filming and it was too chaotic.

I agree. I know he had his detractors when he was on Blue but I think that was character related and not his acting ability, as he was superb the short time he was on.

Cool... I met him on paintball field in Malibu couple years ago (1989??) and he's cool guy.
