Path to 9/11

anyone watched this?

it's about 3 hours on ABC tonight. my biggest gripe, it's not in HD!

Tommy Ceez 09-10-06 11:46 PM

After all the hubub, I tuned in during a break in Giants Colts and was impressed with the production quality...I'd be very interested to see it if it ever re-runs

krblgc 09-11-06 08:36 AM

yup it looks like a good movie. even though its kinda fictionalized it still gives you idea on how bureacracy works in the government.

cungar 09-11-06 01:17 PM

Critically trashed Republican propoganda. Metacritic

Thank God there's nothing good on ABC. I won't be watching the All Bush Channel anymore.

Don't know about broadcast re-runs, but it will be available on-line at abc.com, and I believe it is also scheduled for free release through iTunes at some point.

Disney and ABC just loves Republicans.

Quatermass 09-11-06 02:09 PM

I've enjoyed it so far, but we had a weather map taking up a fourth of a screen and several interruptions for weather updates (the storm was 200 miles away), so I missed some parts of it.

Yes, because Lost sucks

Yet another attempt by the right to take advantage of 9/11 for their own political means. They know that they're in danger of losing many House / Senate seats in the upcoming election, and they know that they are completely incapable of winning a debate when it comes to policies and facts, so they're doing their tried and true trick - hauling out the "blame Clinton" card.

Grow a pair and post this in the politics thread

The fact that Disney is in on it shows just how deep the conspiracy is. Diabolical!!!

I agree.

I tried to watch this, since they advertised it as being commercial-free, but it still wasn't logo-free. I can't watch a serious drama on ABC because that logo keeps reminding me of Schoolhouse Rock. If the FCC were doing their job they would have banned that practice by now anyways.

Well, luckily for it's detractors, this mini-series sucked so horribly so it's inaccuracies are now a moot point. Can we officialy retire shaky/zoom-cam as a method to convey realism please?

And for the money spent on this, they couldn't spring for HD? I mean c'mon ABC...'According to Jim' is in HD.

Tommy Ceez 09-11-06 09:50 PM

And anyone who said it was Pro-Bush, Pro-Republican without seeing it turned out to be an ass...it was pro-Richard Clark/911 Commission if anything.

According to Jim is in HD yet CBS cannot broadcast the NFL in HD. Amazing.

My biggest problem with the cinematography (if we can call it that) was that 90 percent of the shots were essentially face shots. Combine that closeness with the erratic camera work, and you've got 5 hours of a nightmare for a person suffering from claustrophobia.

The only thing interesting I found out was the story of John P. O'Neill. The fact that the man investigated these series of events for so long, and then eventually was killed as a direct result of terrorist attacks related to his investigation, was more interesting than the fictionalized details accompaning the telemovie.

i mean shit, they had only 2 fucking games in hd this week! while fox had each game in hd.

krblgc 09-11-06 10:19 PM

yup I agree about John O'Neill. Also, I would expect that due to his large involvement in the counterterrorism activities, his name/legacy would be more prominent. I guess that controversy he had regarding that stolen briefcase damaged his career.

another great story is that of Moussad. so many "what ifs" in there.

after enduring 5 hours watching this, I'm kind of dizzy and light headed due to the freakin' camera shots.

Nonsense. Rush saw the show, so it must be inaccurate. Even without having seen it yet (it is recorded) I know that it does an injustice to the Clinton Legacy.

Sorry. Just find it amazing that Rush gets accused of having "mind numbed robots" and then you see what happens with people coming out of the woodwork on this thing.

What had my jaw drop while watching the movie was the cast that included a very hard core Hollywood liberal cast. Now of course this movie can't be true, because as the Left-wing liberal Democrats have told us Bush was behind knocking down the Twin Towers along with blowing up the levees in New Orleans to flood all the blacks.

Wow, Left-wing, liberal and Demorcat? That's like the trifecta of evil right there - they may as well be child-molesting, Satanic Nazis. And you're correct, all I ever hear from the Left is how W was responsible for 9/11. Wait, in my last sentence replace Left with Right and W with Clinton...

Now, we haven't said any such thing Bill. But feel free to provide some sort of proof to back up your crackpot statements.
