I like Ellen and I love these Oscar telecasts, so the combination should make for an excellent evening.

Good choice in my opinion.

Can't stand her, but I'll be watching nevertheless.

Ellen is a great choice to host. I'd still like to see them give Letterman another shot at some point, and I think Jerry Seinfeld would be an excellent host but he would probably decline the offer. I'd imagine they've already asked Seinfeld at some point.

Probably shallow of me, but I always saw Ellen as the female Jerry - especially after seeing her first few shows when they aired in the UK. And I don't mean that in a bad way....

You and Howard Stern. For years he called her Vageinfeld. Which always cracked me up.

I never even thought about Jerry Seinfelf for this gig. Excellent choice. And as much as I love David Letterman and Jon Stewart, please don't allow them to host this again. I thought they both did a terrible job. No where near as bad as Whoopi. That was a trainwreck. Again, Ellen, Steve Martin or Seinfeld are my choices.

Anybody but Whoopi and no Chris Rock!
Also I wonder if they got her to make up to the Gay community for BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN getting upset as last years Best Picture.

I predict the lowest rated Academy Awards ever.

The ratings have virtually NOTHING to do with the host...it's always about the movies nominated. That's why the years TITANIC and LORD OF THE RINGS won are two of the highest rated shows.

No offense, but were you serious? Because lots of people in the straight community were upset by this too.
