Justice 9/6/06
Another good followup with a propulsive beat in terms of pacing. Kerr Smith is still a little too "green" as Tom, but I liked the rest of the cast of TNT&G, and Victor Garber is fun to watch in his role as Ron Trott.

They surprised me with the girl
Spoiler:
Another good episode though. |

I'm still hoping they don't always win every case.

I wonder what cast member from Big Love will be on next week.

Garber is so fun to watch on this.
I was surprised that it was really self-defense as well. |

Solid episode... I am really enjoying the cast on this. So far the stories have been ho hum, but the actors do such a great job, I don't even mind. Seems like I'm sticking with this one for the season.

The use of slow motion at the end was cheesy.
|
I've enjoyed both epsiodes so far, but I wonder how long Ron Trott can continue being a sleazebag before I want to switch channels. And the bits with the blonde "Court TV" reporter will wear thin very quickly.

If Fox were smart, they'd swap this show with Standoff. House/Justice on Tuesday, Bones/Standoff on Wednesday.
Might mean lower ratings for Bones/Standoff, but Justice would thrive in that spot. |

This episode was a little better than the last one but I think it's just a little too slick for me. I like the parts where they show the strategy leading up to the case, but I really don't like any of the characters. I also like the fact they the story moves along quickly and there is no extraneous interpersonal silliness, like on Standoff. We'll see. Most likely I will drop it when all the good stuff comes back.

I'm enjoying it now but suspect there will be too much "sameness" after a few more shows. I'd be pleasantly surprised if they prove me wrong.
|
The one thing I didn't get about this episode was the timeline when they turned the girl in to police. It seemed like a lot of time had passed so I was shocked when they said that there wasn't a 24-hour Target open to buy her new clothes. How did Trott have time to schedule an appearance on Fauxcy Grace's show? She was just hanging out in the lawyer's office all that time wearing dirty clothes?
|
Im also interested in how they didn't reveal whether they knew she took the money. If she went right to them and they took her purse and cellphone at the beginning, they would have seen all the money.
|
Leads you to think she was lying about coming straight to the law firm, like she did with the money, the way he was killed, etc.
|
Good series so far. Hopefully it is not Perry Mason, and they will lose at least two cases, or it will become rather predictable. I do like having the real story at the end, but we need to see some endings being different than what was argued.
|
I've enjoyed both shows so far, and its great to see Victor Garber again.
I too think that Court TV thing has to be trimmed down. And there is no way they can win every case. I do like the reveal at the end of each show though, it could lead to some good surprises. |
I enjoyed this episode as well. I'm liking this show.
I was confused about the bell hop testifying that he noticed her "being calm and unagitated." Why would he notice her if she was calm and unagitated? Walking out of the lobby everyone noticed her because she was walking fast, darting her eyes around, etc. To me she looked guilty of something, and he was testifying that he noticed her being unremarkable. To respond to some earlier comments: I worry about the "sameness" week after week, too. But, I also heavily worried about that with "House" as well. But, I love that show. The clips with the "American Crime" show 'kinda' annoy me. It would annoy me less if he were going on different shows. There is more than one channel with one crime show. Hell, these days he could be on 'Entertainment Tonight." The girl who did the dating and killing, she was not attractive at all. She looked like a failed attempt at cloning Christina Ricci (which I would love to have a successful attempt). |
