9:00-9:30 p.m. The Knights of Prosperity (formerly "Let's Rob Mick Jagger") That has to be the worst re-title since whatever they were going to use instead of Snakes on a Plane. |

Wow. There is exactly one show, LOST, that I even remotely care about on ABC.
|
I'm only interested in Lost, The Nine and Six Degrees on ABC.

That lineup reminds me of the time Lionel Hutz was reviewing the Fox fall lineup and the only shows listed were "The Simpsons", "The X-Files", and "Melrose Place"...

I thought "Traveler" was on ABC?

So with that late start date for Lost, does this mean we're only getting 7 or 8 episodes before it goes on that 13 week hiatus?
Edit: Looks like we're only getting it for six weeks before the break. http://www.eonline.com/News/Items/0,...html?rsslatest |

"It's a very, very difficult show to produce. You know, if we could run 22 straight in the fall, we probably would. But we just can't get the shows done in that amount of time. This 13-week break after 6 new episodes seems like it might be more aggravating than their previous scheduling. |

Actually, I'd be fine with Lost if they did the 24 thing -- held back until January and then went straight through.

Dunno, IMO the 24-style season works out much better. In fact I was hoping that we'd see fewer and fewer "traditional" seasons in general with the way things are. |

'Ugly Betty' Gets Scheduling Makeover ABC moves new series to Thursday nights August 9 2006 LOS ANGELES -- ABC has given a big vote of confidence to its new series "Ugly Betty," moving the show away from the relative quiet of Friday night and into the competitive fray on Thursdays. "Betty," an adaptation of the telenovela "Betty La Fea," is now scheduled to premiere at 8 p.m. ET on Thursday, Sept. 28, where it will lead off a lineup that also includes the hit hospital drama "Grey's Anatomy" and another new series, "Six Degrees." ABC will move utility player "America's Funniest Home Videos" into the 8 p.m. Friday spot that was "Betty's" original home. The move comes after the show received a wave of positive reaction from critics at last month's Television Critics Association press tour. "Ugly Betty," executive produced by Salma Hayek (who also has a cameo in the pilot), follows a bright but plain-looking young woman (America Ferrera) trying to make her mark at a glossy fashion magazine. The scheduling change displaces two other new shows, the comedies "Big Day" and "Notes from the Underbelly." ABC hasn't given them new homes yet, but they could end up on either Tuesday or Wednesday nights after "Dancing with the Stars" finishes its run later in the fall. Returning sitcoms "According to Jim" and "George Lopez" are also likely to fill one of the "Dancing" hours. More people watch television on Thursday than on Friday, giving "Ugly Betty" a bigger pond in which to swim. But the show will also face some heavy competition in CBS' "Survivor" and NBC's "My Name Is Earl" and "The Office." FOX is also going with new shows in the timeslot -- sitcoms "'Til Death" and "Happy Hour" -- while The CW will return one of its top shows, "Smallville." In more immediate scheduling news, ABC has yanked the unscripted show "One Ocean View" from its Monday schedule, effective next week after two episodes drew weak ratings. It will be replaced by repeats of "Supernanny." Chris |
the novela on Univision was an extreme hit.... but this schedule change might doom it.... sucks
|
13 week break . You've got to be kidding me. I for one am EXTREMELY glad that I watch this show on DVD exclusively now.

I guess ABC thinks they have something special in Day Break? I can't think of why Lost would need a 13 week hiatus unless their shooting schedule were completely messed up.

Becasue of everybody bitching about the schedule last year.
|
Brothers & Sisters looks like a mess. They announced today Marti Noxon quit as the show runner after a disagreement with the creator. This after recasts and reshooting of the pilot.

I'll be shocked if they leave this trainwreck in that plum timeslot. |

Ugly Betty was one I planned on trying, but now there's no way. I already have Earl/Office, Smallville, and Survivor in that timeslot. |

Ugly Betty is the one they should move to the post-DH slot. It's gotten good buzz, but it will really struggle in that slot (even though it is a good fit with Grey's). |
Wow just Lost for me on ABC. poor showing.

It's gotten good buzz, but it will really struggle in that slot (even though it is a good fit with Grey's). Personally my opinion on moving the series is that they just doomed it and their Friday 9pm showing "Men in Trees"... I was really looking forward to that 2-hour Friday block on ABC, and their only competition would be 'las vegas' and 'crossing jordan' which are very different tonally shows... both shows could have lived out nice, long lives in that spot because a 7.5/8.5 million (which is what many project for Betty) would be suffect for a Friday show... but putting it on Thursdays at 8 is just plan bad, the show will be lucky to bring 4 million after episode three because of going again 'smallville,' 'office/earl,' and 'survivor'... and with no lead in for 'men in trees' they might as well give the actors their severence checks now... Although I have a couple theorys about this move. Two ABC pilots "Secrets of a Small Town" and "October Road" were not given a series order, but ABC put the writers/actors in a contract incase they wanted to revisit the pilots over the next six months, and maybe one of these shows will be given a series order later in the year... And my other theory is that 'Kyle XY' is pulling in great numbers (considering what it usually got in teh Friday 8pm slot) on ABC and maybe they plan on continueing with it durring its second season in Jan/Feb/March... |
