Evangeline Lily on Leno - WTF?

Anyone catch this on Leno the other night? Her publicist must have been passing out watching it!

In her interview she:

- Told an "endearing" story about accidentally drinking five or six gulps of her friends urine from a water bottle.

- Referred to herself wearing a 'Strap-On' in some story about how she is a tough girl. (can't remember the exact context).

- Proved to Leno how tough she is by doing 10 "knuckle" push ups.

- Told a story about how she ate a slug when she was three years old and still eats disgusting stuff.

Here is a video of a commercial she did before she was famous.

resinrats 05-23-06 01:59 PM

I don't get it. Is she dating him?

I thought the same thing!!! It was like she was intentionally trying to be macho! Leno even mentioned how she was ruining every fantasy he ever had about her or something like that~

They give guests free alcohol backstage at the Tonight Show. It's made for a few memorable appearances when guests have overdone it (Quentin Tarantino notably). Maybe that's what happened here. I remember seeing Rachel Leigh Cook on there once, presumably drunk (it was before I heard about the backstage booze) and thinking she was just nuts.

Rachel Ray. I doubt she was drunk. She always acts like an idiot.

Hey...I think I asked this in a LOST thread but got no response. (which may have been an answer to my question) I think I remember seeing her in the background of a teen slasher flick. Maybe Final Destination 1... Is this old news?

I think that the celebrities would be offended at a cash bar. ;)

George Clooney: "I'll have a heinekin"
Tonight show Bartender: "That'll be $7 Mr. Clooney, would you like to start a tab?"

Found more on the subject...

On programs like Jay Leno's Tonight Show or David Letterman's Late Show, which feature celebrities used to the limelight, drinking on air has been mostly taboo, though guests are regularly offered booze backstage on the Tonight Show. Letterman's people won't offer alcohol, but will get something if it's requested.

The Drinks Are On Jay
2 May 2001 (WENN)
Chat show host Jay Leno is seeking to loosen up his Hollywood movie star guests by getting them drunk before the program begins. Leno, who hosts the The Tonight Show With Jay Leno, first suggested last November that his show should have alcohol available backstage - especially for female guests who, producers felt, opened up a bit more when they'd had a drink. During an appearance in February, actress Charlize Theron complimented the show's margaritas and was then brought one onstage. And with critics often complaining that the Tonight Show's celebrity interviews are stiff and overly prepared, bosses on the show decided it was time to open the bar before every episode. According to The New York Post, a Tonight Show source says, "Spontaneity is something we're always trying to achieve and never able to. So maybe this does fuel a little spontaneity." Another adds, "We've always provided a [cocktail] if a guest asked for one. Although this might be a little different."

Her complaint about the slow/bad drivers in Hawaii wasn't exactly PR-savvy either.

Leno is a puss, those stories just make her even hotter :eyebrow:

She said the exact same thing on Ellen last week.

kenage 05-23-06 07:04 PM

Lilly was not a professional actress before "Lost" She was a model from Canada that did some commercials before being cast on "Lost." I have heard that the two of them will get married, but for the life of me I can't figure out why she would marry the hobbit.

Scratch that, she said it on Leno. On Ellen yesterday, she was talking about what a horrible driver she is, and how she has had 9 accidents. Yet the drivers in Hawaii are bad?

RichC2 05-23-06 08:18 PM

Yeah, I was thinking she lost a bet or something.

Patman 05-24-06 12:26 AM
