That Hasselhoff shot was awesome! I didn't think that was the worst night of television, but with Tivo you can really shore up the gaps. Too bad the end was a bit cut off.

Huh, I actually thought this was the best season finale they've had. Yeah, it was cheezy and there were some bum notes. But other than the Pickler/Puck stuff and the Idol awards silliness it was an entertaining enough show. I'm glad they didn't drag it down with tons of recaps, interviews backstage, etc. like the past ones have. They just stuck to the basics... music with a side of cheese.

BTW, Jadzia, that Braxton-Hicks comment was the funniest EVER!!
Did anyone see how she tried to get Taylor to booty dance with her????
Oh, and I thought the song selection they had for the contestants at the finale during their solo's were so much better than the crap they had to sing during the show. How about they forget theme nights and let them sing what ever they want from now on?
And what's the verdict on Picklers $300.00 haircut?
And I seriously did not recognize Clay Aiken..and I thought Prince was unbelieveably good!
GOODBYE IDOL!!!! hello dancers!

But anyways, I am happy that Taylor won. And I'm also happy that Kat got a lot of TV time as well

Taylor & Toni should put out a duets album called "Contractions".

Well that was a pretty fun show. Prince prancing off after tearing it up was too funny. More random thoughts:
Clay, bangs look like shit on guys. That was scary. And they really need to stop caking him with makeup. It was semi-touching the way that guy was so freaked out/happy watching Clay sing.
I really liked the boys in black doing their group song, much better singing and overall "choreography" than the girls.
The green jacket should be burned (almost as bad as Taylor's velvet thing) but Elliott was strong on about 30 seconds of "One". Too bad Mary J. then took over and oversang and moaned through the rest of it. He really shined on "A House is Not a Home", nice and soulful as usual (still think he should have won). And then we pan over to Chicken Little lisping his way through "What's New, Pussycut?" I was for so many reasons.
The thinness of Kellie and Melissa's voices also showed throughout the night. But they looked purty, right guys?
Ace was playing to the camera every chance he got as usual.
Bucky sounded ok, he's a super likeable guy but way too often it sounds like he's straining to get a turd out.
Mandisa oversings more than Mary J. Blige. Just about every time she got a solo she had to go into that gospel yelling style that made me glad she got booted. Loud doesn't mean good, and she seems to think she's the next Aretha. Good luck with that. I still think Paris was much stronger of the two powerhouse soul divas, much more diversity in the types of stuff she can sing too.
Lisa actually sounded really good on "Alfie". Throughout the show to me she had much better vocal control than Kat, especially in the upper registers. Kat was more soulful and bluesy but I always compared them b/c they both had that powerful yet clean/smooth tone in their voices. Still, I guess Lisa just wasn't memorable or distinct enough vocally or any other way to stick around longer in the competition.
Toni Braxton apparently didn't get the memo about what song she was singing. You guys make fun of some of the AI contestants for smiling and acting overjoyed while doing sad songs. Toni was hilarious. Yes, you got back in shape after having a baby. We get it.
As much as I like Taylor, he always sounds so flat and generic when he's not singing in the loud bluesy soul style. On record that's gonna really be dull, kinda like Bo was, unless he livens it up a good bit. Still, I guess I'm glad he won over Kat, just to see how they'll try and market his crazy ass.
