Not as many breaks between episodes for Lost next season...

That's .. so... cool .. I'm sure people are gonna moan about the big gap between the two blocks (i.e. wanting Lost to air like 24), but it sure as shit beats the way they've done it for season 1 and 2..

This sounds great to me. I prefer this to airing them all in one run so that we don't have to wait so long for some new episodes and the DVDs of the previous season.

It's better than their current method, but I wish they would air it in one long run - straight through.

They probably want to hit all three sweeps periods. They could only hit two of the three if they aired it straight through.

Yet the season two DVD is coming out in October.

Okay, way to screw over all the viewers that might be holding out for the DVD release to catch back up in time for season three. Although, that's not me, but it's still kinda screwing over some viewers.

To me, it would be better to start the seven week run in mid-October. That ends the first block in mid-December, just in time before the Christmas programs, and then it's not as long of a break.:scratch2:

Sounds good to me. The 24 method is still the best way to air a serialized hourlong, but two uninterrupted blocks is the next best thing.

Now if they can keep up the momentum they've built over the last couple weeks, I might actually stick around for Season 3.

Looks like the fall of ratings was actually good for this show.

Wellllll...Damon did say in the podcast this week that they were going to have 180 eps next season - every other day...but that they'd be 4 minutes long each. :p

I guess that means we'll still have some recap/clip episodes. Maybe we'll have a recap episode that recaps all of the other recap episodes, too.

Or way to make sure YOU watch the live broadcasts in the third season instead of waiting! :lol:

You're still gonna buy it anyway. If you wanna get caught up, just record those first 7. By time you watch the S2 DVDs, go through the holiday season and get caught up with the beginning of S3, the 2nd half will be airing. (Much harder to do when they release the previous season and do a mixed-bag of new episodes in the fall IMO).

Honestly, most people are spoiled that season sets come out right after they've aired to get you "caught up". I never got to watch Buffy the Vampire Slayer while it was on the air because I was never "caught up".

I BARELY managed to get caught up with The Shield and ALIAS on DVD by recording the starts of their seasons and "power-watching" their season releases.

As for me... this is GREAT news! ALIAS and 24 were much better served by this type of airing schedule. Someone at ABC just got their head out of their **bleep**!

Only odd thing about this is this Taye Diggs show. If it airs during the hiatus, it will never hit sweeps. I guess they'll soley rely on weekly ratings to judge the show. :shrug:

Awesome! Glad the people over at ABC gave their head a shake. The wait between blocks and the inevitable fall cliffhanger is going to be tough, but I'll take it over the shitty way they handled the scheduling of the show this season.

Great news, and while it is not the best, it is probably the next best; or the third an even split would probably be the second best.

This is good news.

With that said, I worry that if LOST is more successful with this strategy, it may lead every non-procedural to copy this format and to air their episodes in the same windows. That would make for a very boring December and March.

As long as not all of the shows are doing this, it will be a welcome change to have a few of them do it.

The split os the best compromise they could make. While fans might prefer a straight through season like 24, this way makes more sense for ABC. With the 7 episode mini-run Lost can help get people to try out the shows around it. Plus, it helps prevent people from getting hooked on any new shows airing opposite of Lost.

:hscratch: Episode will run from Feb. straight through May. No break in March.

Wouldn't it make more sense to put a similarly themed show in between with hopes of maintaining Lost's demographic audience?

Sounds like they were getting a bit scared with all the breaks and the loss of viewers.
