What, no Star Trek joke between Shatner and Ryan? Then again, maybe Ryan wants to forget the Trek show she was on.
Interesting that Alan bedded two co-workers who weren't his night terrors blonde secretary.
Is Parker Posey joining the show? They need more females on it, especially since EVERY ONE OF THEM that was a regular for the pilot (and The Practice episodes) are no longer on the show.

Anyway, I never thought I'd see the day when Captain Kirk, Number 2, Seven of Nine and Dr. Daniel Jackson (movie version) are walking out of a court house together.
It boggles the mind.

What was the song playing when Denise was walking away after that meeting with Shirley and Paul?
Pretty good episode, but again, I got to note that Denny didn't do a thing to help Courtney. Alan did all the work at the trial.

Didn't care much for Denise's subplot, but the Brad and Denny stuff was good. Loved the whole dialogue between Alan and Denny at the beginning about being on "the same cycle" and the stuff at the end about next season "Same night?" "God, I hope so".
Oh, and Alan's a pimp, yo.

I didn't realize this was a 2 hr ep so I only saw the last half but still loved it. I'm guessing it was Allan that nailed Marlene at the end of the ep?

Is it just me, or does this show have a fixation with the character's hands? It often seems when they cut to a scene, it starts out with a close-up on the character's hands, then pans to their face. Or even during a scene there will be a quick cut to someone's hands for no apparent reason. Is there some symbolism here I'm missing? Is it just a stylistic choice?
This has little to do with the finale. Just something that I've noticed and wanted to get out there since there won't be another thread on this show until the Fall. Plus I have no one in my life to share this with.

I'll take more Robert Wagner next season. "Denny Crane." "Barry Gold." killed me. Of all the shows various attempts at getting a regular female character, save Bergen, I liked Julie Bowen the best and if this episode wrote her out, I'm sorry to see her go. Still, if it picks up Parker Posey, there are worse trade-offs although whoever is doing Posey's hair is definitely not doing her any favors. And could they have crammed any more guest stars into the show? How many episodes was this year? 24? 25?

"Like are you a man? I can live with that"
Good finale
It seemed like the way it was written that this was Bowen's last episode. I love Julie Bowen but I won't miss the character if she's gone.

Considering what they went through to put Bowen on this show (cramming her into episodes she was never in, adding two characters just to give her someone to talk to, then uncerimoniously dumping them), it would seem like a waste to drop her after one season. But then again, Rebecca DeMornay went through all that character development on The Practice only to be dropped before Boston Legal began, and all three female leads from the Boston Legal pilot are long gone. It would just be the latest show where DEK has no idea what the hell he's doing with characters.

Is a "Denny Crane", "Barry Gold", "Donny Crane" exchange in the works for next season?
ABC promos for these episodes pretty much showed every Michael J Fox line. It was getting to the end of the two hours and he hadn't shown up yet. After the talk Denise had with Paul and Shirley, it was pretty obvious how and why he would show up.

Great finale. I love how Denny mentioned that it was the sweeps episode when he was asking for the kiss with Shirley.
