Smallville--'Vessel' Season Finale--5/11/06
In the fifth-season finale, Clark's Kryptonian origins sow seeds of sorrow and destruction on Earth as forces affecting Lex, Lionel, Lana and Clark are set in motion, culminating in the moment for which all his trials have prepared him.
After last week's good set-up, I'm excited to see what takes place tonight. I'm hoping for Brainiac inhabiting Lex instead of Zod, just to get giddy from the JLU reference.

My DVR has added two minutes to this (8:00 - 9:02) which is creating a conflict in grabbing CSI at 9:00 (with Earl running long). Anyone know if the extra 2 minutes is real or is my cable company doing silly shit to screw me up? I sure don't want to miss the last minutes of this, but if it's just previews and/or credits, then I can adjust it back.

The opening was reminiscent of the X-Files. Lex got some mad powers now.
The Superman Returns 30-second spot features 4-5 new bits in it (the rest was culled from the theatrical trailer).

Yea, join the club.
I had doubts at the start, but near the end it was totally friggin' rockin'.
Worst part? By end of the first episode next season, this whole arc will be forgotten.

Well, I thought it was okay, but it was missing something from the epic-ness it was going for.
So, I guess the season 6 premiere will resolve this main development (I am thinking Lionel will figure in getting Clark set free), and the next episodes will fast-forward through the summer, though what will the rioting do to the cities?

I loved it. Best episode of the season! Had a good episode last week and a great episode this week. It was needed after a string of 3-4 disappointing episodes in a row.

I wish the writers of the show would have some guts to do a 3-7 episode story arc like this during the season. We get little bits and pieces of a season plot, but it's usually accompanied by a lame FOTW or something like that. When the Smallville crew decides to do something like this, it's quite good.
Nice move by Chloe!!

Wow. That was one busy second half. It had some good parts but I'm not sure it can make me feel better that so many other episodes this season either weak or pointless.
I'm tempted to watch the show next year as it airs but I'm going to do my best to wait for the DVD releases from here on out. I can't be bothered with 20+ filler episodes between the premiere and the finale of each season.

I think it's funny that no one has mentioned the perilous predicament that Martha and Lois find themselves in in the airplane. It's like they are just an after-thought to pad the episode.

Personally I think everyone else is worse off for a moment, I mean whatever evil plan is in store for them will most likely be dragged out in true super villian style. If anything i'm more curious to see how Lana ends up
