The bus coming from my school stops near Lincoln Center, so I dropped by there for a few minutes around 8:30 to see what was going on. But Jack Bauer > David Blaine, so I went home pretty quickly.

wow, that was amazing. kinda sad that he didn't get the record...I think that if he wasn't so run down by doing the week underwater thing, he would've set the record.
In this article it said that he lost about 50 lbs for this event. It looked it too cuz the guy was jacked. You could tell that when he was training with the Navy Seals that he was a lot bigger.
To those who are joking about him dying and whatnot, to each his own but I think that's pretty messed up.

I more or less assumed he would have succeeded at this. I'm shocked he failed and wasn't really that close to the record.
I can't imagine how he feels right now. You can tell he's very motivated so I'm sure he took this failure very personal. I wonder if he'll try it in the future or if he'll realize that even for a man with his mind over matter experience that he won't try it again.

I was on board with the whole "make fun of him" boat until I saw him actually try to accomplish it. The guy really prepared for this and it beats "how many worms can I eat" type world record crap we've been seeing in recent years.
Watching him hold his breath I actually started rooting for him to do it. I think if he hadn't exerted so much effort with the chains he would have done it. I don't even know why he bothered with them in the first place. Like just holding your breath for 9 MINUTES isn't enough?!
