Thief "In the Wind" 5/2/06 (season finale)

"In the Wind"
With the Feds on their trail, the guys scramble to get the money and themselves out of New Orleans. Meanwhile, Nick learns that someone he trusts has turned on him.
Episode 6 (season finale) is upon us. Has this show been renewed?

This is a great show that I don't think too many people have seen.
I am really looking forward to tonight - but 6 episode are not enough.
I hope that it gets another season with at least 10.

I don't think the ratings have been very good for this show. Over There was not renewed due to lackluster ratings (though the production costs for that show were probably considerably higher), so I wouldn't be surprised if this is all we'll be getting.

So only 1 of the 4 made it out with any money? One wa s arrested, one is dead, and Nick had to give his share up to get Tammi back.

My big gripe with the show is the cop and the Chinese mob story were pointless in the end. I imagine if there were more episodes they would have fleshed it out more.

I thought they ended it well. They can pick it up if they want to, or they can end it without any major questions unanswered.

OT: Good to see It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia is back on June 29th

Overall, I was sorta disappointed in this series.

It was almost too much of a downer, with characters I was mostly indifferent to.

Braugher did a good job (as is expected) with what he had to work with, but by the end, I was left with a real "meh" sort of feeling, and didn't really care about anyone or anything that happened.

Pretty good wrap up, and I did enjoy the show quite a bit...but honestly, I don't think I really care if it comes back or not.

I pretty much agree w/the sentiment thus far. I liked the show plenty, but the crooked cop & the chinese things went nowhere. I can't believe Nick would give his ENTIRE share of the job for the kid--you're tellin' me he wouldn't keep a pack or two of hundreds, esp. since the guy wasn't even counting. Just dumb.

So Ice goes to jail, the other guy we assume bleeds to death, one guy leaves with the money but not the girl, and Nick & Egg drive off into the sunset. It's almost like they didn't think this was going to be a regular series so they just didn't go all-out in creating long-term characters, which is a bummer because it had superb potential...

This didn't surprise me too much. If they had pulled off this score of a lifetime, then any season 2 story would be pretty lame. I figured something would go wrong leaving him broke.

I'll watch if it returns next year. But I won't be overly upset if it doesn't. But it sure was fun seeing Andre again.

The only thing that makes any sense to me is if somehow they knew they'd get 2 seasons and wanted to spend this whole season developing the only 2 characters that are still really in play so they could bring them into some super-compelling story with better characters this time next year.

That seems really unlikely, so I think this may have always been a miniseries that they billed as a regular series because they figured that was the best way to get people to watch.

This show really needed more running time to flesh everything out. I would say at least 2 more episodes would have helped.

just in case, I want to point out im about to drop a couple *spoilers*

what happened with the bodies of the cop and nephew? were they merely left in Nick's business/garage? This would have of course been the best way to make it look like a "mutual shootout" Wouldnt this have brought immediate heat down on him since they almost certainly could connect the business with his house and real name etc.

The last two eps were really quite good. And the finale could play as either a series finale or just a season finale.

Season 2 should focus on Nick and Tammy killing her father.

Enjoyed the series, great to see Andre back on the tube. Not really sure if this show has long term potential. I thought the ending as a "series" finale was pretty good. I guess it could be renewed, tho not sure why it would need to be.

So I guess crime doesn't pay. Man that was depressing.

As for the season/series, it was okay, but not in the same league as the F/X Big Three. I was never in a rush to watch it on the DVR.

How exactly did this get submitted as a miniseries anyway? That's what I don't get. I wonder if this means that, as I mentioned earlier, they always saw this as a miniseries but chose to bill it as a potentially continuing series to deceive the audience.
