THE APPRENTICE-April 10, 2006

Uh, doesnt seem like there is much buzz about this show. Doesnt anybody care that the Russian went home?

Oh, and Lee has proven to be quite the advesary, coming on strong!

That pizze sandwich sounds like the most disgusting food product ever invented. For some reason, a turkey sandwich on focaccia bread sounds great, but turkey between two slices of pizza sounds like puke.

$7.99 for a sandwich? NYC must be expensive for even a sandwich. As a college student, paying more than $3 for lunch was a luxury.

zuffy 04-11-06 07:41 PM

Leslie dropped the ball in this one. Lee is right with a lower price but dropping a dollar off $7.99 is still expensive for a 7-11. George is a bit wrong too, a slice of pizza will cost you $2.25 - 2.75 in Manhattan, so 2 slices + a drink will cost about $5.5 - 6.50. Either way, it's still cheaper and more filling than the 7-11 pizza.

Trust me, that's expensive. I don't know what they were thinking- I would have priced it at $4.75, max.

We didn't Lee close on the $2 per sandwich deal? They would have won the challenge and still probably would have made a profit on the sandwich. Also was anyone a little disturbed that Lee knew that the guy was going to counter his first offer but still went in with his best price? That's like sales 101, he could have at least gone in at $3.50 and gone down to $2.50.

I had no idea there were going to be two episodes until I got done watching the first one and saw my Tivo was recording another one.

Lee talking over that girl in the boardroom was funny, like Crossfire or The View.

I had to laugh at their comments about the British guy in DC: "It's so great to see him live the American dream!" Like England is some backwards country where people can't be successful.

See, if Lenny were still there he would have closed the deal for $2.00 because it was not profits that mattered but how much percentage they increased sales ( I guess for a average day)

chowderhead 04-12-06 12:17 AM

Leslie should have told Donald it was against her religion to work on her birthday and made him boot Lee. GoldRush is pathetic. They are definitely editing
Spoiler:
the British guy
to win.

What's to prevent them from "selling" the sandwiches at $0.01 if % of sales was all that mattered. I am sure there was a baseline to maintain profit.

Totally agree. I think their promotional item should have been a bucket and a small bottle of ipecac.

Jadzia 04-12-06 01:49 AM

The name of that sandwich is really bad. It is impossible for anyone to say P'eatZZa without sounding like an idiot with a speech impediment.

Josh-da-man 04-12-06 02:16 AM

Agreed that the sandwich sounded nasty.

Maybe they're trying to appeal to the stoner market.

tbird2340 04-12-06 08:48 AM

What I wonder is why Lee / GoldRush with 5 minutes to go, didn't sell the remaining sandwiches to that guy at $2.00?

Also, does anyone else think that guy Lee was talking to about the sandwiches was just doing that to be on TV? I mean, Lee asks if he wants 15-20 sandwiches.. The guy turns around and says he wants 1,000!?

Yeah, that was pretty stupid. 1000 sandwiches at $2 is better than 50 sandwiches at $8.

7-11? Stoners?
Riiiiiiiight.

I'm seriously hoping that Trump doesn't hire anyone during the season finale.

Patman 04-15-06 05:47 PM

I think Trump loves Charmaine, and that Brit-dude is seriously being pimped to be the next Trump Chump.

I have liked Charmaine in the past but she really got on my nerves this week. Yikes!
