Big Love "Affair" 4/09/06
|
Nikki was actually likable for once at the end.
|
Nope -- I still find Nikki to be a loathsome creature. Too bad Bill can't divorce her and keep Barb and Margene.

Daveigh Chase has a nice singing voice (Sparkle Motion!) |
I laughed out loud when Alby smacked that guy in the head. If there were a puppy nearby Alby would TOTALLY have kicked it.
So, how soon before Roman's new wife accuses Alby of something sexual just to get him in trouble? I sense a feud a-brewin' and Alby surely has less ammunition. |

Is she really pregnant or is she vying for attention?
|
She's not pregnant, she was announcing that she wanted to have another baby...that she wants to get pregnant.
|
Her announcement was a ploy to take the attention back away from Barb.
That said, she needs more kids. She's a great mother! |

I thought she was saying she was pregnant as well. Good episode. Sad you have to sneak around to have sex with your wife. Not many guys can you cheated on your wives with your wife.
|
She's not pregnant yet -- she starts her speech by saying she wants to add another soul to the family.

Two different scenes in the hotel :)
Two opportunities to see Barb's boobies :D Zero glimpses of said boobies  |

Don't hold your breath for the boobies. The showrunners are two gay men. Hence the constant shots of BillP's ass. :)

This was a good episode. I loved Nicky standing up to Alby that way, she was like a tigress. Another good episode. I love how they are really exploring this multi-marriage on all levels. You could really see how Bill and Barb were yearning for it to be just them, and the excitement of sneaking around like an affair. I also liked when Nicky told Barb she loved her, it actually seemed genuine. I'm loving this show. |
There is one thing about Big Love I will never buy into -
How would any man married to Jeanne Tripplehorn want to waste time with another woman? This show is pure science fiction, my friends. |

Nikki isn't pregnant now, but wants to be. This is just a ploy to break up the 'affair' with Barb. That's the only reason for her announcement, since she discovered it was Barb that Bill was seeing. I'm assuming that Bill will be staying with Nikki all of the time now that Nikki wants to add a soul to the family. It's a little more difficult adding a soul if you're only sharing a bed 1 out of every 3 nights.

I'm really not sure why I like this show so much but I do, though probably at #3 for HBO shows behind Sopranos and Deadwood. I am also not sure why I am so attracted to Melora Walters every time I see her, but I am.
|
I never gave Tripplehorn the slightest notice in movies, but I've gotta say she's doing some remarkable acting in this show. They're getting great performances out of everyone.
Oh, and Mary Kay Place is pretty much my mom, spot-on. I thought so 20 years ago, and damn if I still don't think so. |
Best part of the episode: the guy at the Attorney General's office had an actual sign on his desk reading "Polygamy Czar".
By the way, I think this episode is about as close as we'll ever get to a Bosum Buddies reunion (Peter Scolari had a "blink and you'll miss him" part as the Seminary Teacher, and Tom Hanks is executive producer). |
So the teen age boy (forget his name) that is so horny he gets wood in wood shop, is apparently going to pass on the blond hottie and instead go ahead with religious instruction?!

Bah! I forgot Scolari was in that.
