In reality, the football guy got kinda screwed out of the deal. All the other inventors got matched up with actual companies, and top companies in the field, no less. He gets Jerry Rice to make a comment about how he'll do what he can to help him out. Which sounds to me like they couldn't find a company that wanted anything to do with The Catch so ABC called in a favor from their Dancing with the Stars finalist.
Million dollars aside the Word Ace probably came out on top as far as likelihood of actually hitting the shelves, as the bike and car seat will have to go through extensive tests at both of those companies, while the Word Ace is more or less ready to go at Hasbro with some minor tweaks. |

Ok, I always thought something seemed a bit fishy that every time they showed Janusz's sob-story about his daughter, they never mentioned any details about how she died or how old she was. The cynic in me was starting to wonder if she was even restrained in a car seat.
Well I just saw Janusz on The View this morning and apparently his dead daughter was killed in a car crash at age 21. Meredith even asked him how that inspired him to make an infant seat. Now a dead daughter is a terrible thing for sure. But for the whole duration of this show ABC led us to believe that Janusz had a dead baby, which just seems all the more tragic. And he used that to garner sympathy and votes, when his invention couldn't have even saved his daughter. I knew this show was maniuplative, but damn, that is some balls. |
Jadzia: Everything is going to be ok...

I just saw a Travel Buddy pillow at Target that looked oddly like the Therapy Buddy sans creepy voice. |

I don't remember if they ever said the age, but somehow I knew his daughter wasn't a baby. I remember thinking it was odd that that inspired the car seat.

The bald lady didn't have cancer, she had alopecia.

Actually this should WOULD be interesting if they concentrated more on the inventions and the process to bring the product to market. Most people are never exposed to that and think inventors do it all themselves which they don't. Having it be about the inventor on the other just got old, especially Niya. Lady seemed nice but creepy at the same time. If there is a second season, keep the AI like beginning showing some good and the really lame inventions, but then award the best invention and show more of that process and minimize the back story thing which I am not sure anyone really cares about. It could be a fun show. Interestingly, I have worked with Patton Design one of the engineering design companies they used in the show. Never really understood exactly how the game worked, especially how they verified it was a real word and spelled correctly, but the commercial he made was excellent.
