I enjoy the show. Not great by any means, but it's an easy way to kill 30 minutes.
I honestly believe that Eric Christan Olsen deserves his own sitcom, and they need to hire Jacob Pitts as his brother. |
The Rachel Boston character was cute. An improvement on the pilot overall. Guess I'll add it to the season pass, which means it's going to be gone in a couple more weeks.

I thought that was her...how come it's not on her imdb filmography? boo. I only caught the end of the episode, anyone got screencaps?! :D |
Very good follow-up to the pilot. The mid-flight scene was hilarious. So was the final boardroom scene: "Let's Rock this Bitch out!!"
|
I couldn't remember who "Jenna - the House Guest" was until sprockets posted her name - "Beth" from American Dreams! That was bugging me the entire ep. They need to make her character a regular.
Definitely better than the pilot, but I think they need to lose the brother. That guy is awful. So far I am loving the combo of Bret Harrison and Philip Baker Hall. |
This show has a lot of potential.. I hope they give it a solid run to work out the kinks, but if it sticks around, it could be one of the better comedies next year
|
I'm enjoying it, like Chmiel said above a real easy way to pass 30 mins, or 22 mins, and most of the characters are easy on the eyes.
|
Loved the "Jack It" pitch and of course the pedometer scene on the plane was hysterical. I liked the pilot but this episode was even better...showing a lot of potential.

I'm in agreement here with the others who said this was a better episode than the first. I thought it was a lot better than the first. It was a much funnier and faster paced show compared to the first. I couldn't stop laughing at the 'masturbating' scene.
There is one thing that bothers me though and I know that it says 'Parental Discretion Advised' at the beginning. But to put on a show that basically glorifies binge drinking throughout the whole episode without any consequences (i.e. terrible hangover, loss of job for being very late to work ;) ) and showing that at 8:30 pm which is the supposed 'family viewing' hour, you just know that the (many) slacker parents of the world are letting their kids watch whatever they want at that time. And I bet there are many many teens (and younger) that see all of this drinking fun and think to themselves, man I want to do that. I just think that this show would be better for the 9 to 10 pm viewing hour. So far, I'm less impressed with the female roommates roles. I liked Sarah Mason when she was in Quintuplets, but here she just plays a not too funny ditzy blonde role. And once again we have someone who professes their love for someone (lead character & roommate) and then he jumps in bed with the Tequila girl first chance he gets. Is that really how the world is? If so, that's pretty pathetic. And now I'll get off my soap box and say that I cannot wait to see next weeks episode. I've always liked Bret Harrison and I have to disagree with B.A., but I think the brother (played by Eric Christen Olsen) is very funny in his role. Chris |
So far I like all the work/office stuff, but I don't really like all the friend/bar/partying stuff. I just don't believe that this promising young exec would be doing all this stupid stupid instead of being focused on his job/career. It almost seems like two different shows/characters.

I got 4 big laughs from this episode, and couldn't believe what a nymph/alkie Rachel Boston played (a far cry from her days on American Dreams). This is much more promising than "Free Ride".

I was wondering... Is the boss "Dr. Kelso" from Scrubs? If he isn't, he sure looks and sounds like Kelso's twin... IMDB didn't list The Loop on Ken Jenkins' profile (the actor who plays Kelso...)
On the other hand, The Loop only lists about 5 cast members, all first names only. EDIT: The only episode I've seen was part of the Tequila contest, where he had the Magic Marker bra on in the board room... |

The boss is played by Philip Baker Hall (who has been in every P.T. Anderson film, except Punch Drunk Love). |
This show wasn't bad. Like someone else said, it's hard to believe that someone with the opportunities he has would start running around a bar naked. The woman that's trying to hit on him at work is pretty funny.
The girls are hot, though. |
