Joey Pulled... Again!

I think you can pretty much stick a fork in this show.

BUM DEAL FOR JOEY: NBC has picked up eight more installments of Deal or No Deal, which now will air Monday and Friday nights. Per Variety, the game show's additional airing relocates Most Outrageous Moments to Tuesdays at 9, effectively returning Joey to the shelf for at least the next few weeks, if not forever.

chino77 03-10-06 08:26 PM

i actually like the show...sucks for me.

al_bundy 03-10-06 09:14 PM

i thought friends was OK because of the chemistry

Joey is just Joey which is annoying by himself

kvrdave 03-10-06 09:17 PM

I hate to see the trend of game shows that are slower than watching hair grow replace anything.

huzefa 03-10-06 10:08 PM

Gameshows don't belong in primetime. They belong in that little period of time after you get home and while you aren't ready to watch tv yet.

Big Worms 03-10-06 10:11 PM

This sucks. I like Joey. If they are going to cancel it than just do it, stop "shelving it".

Timber 03-10-06 10:19 PM

Did they learn nothing from Who Want to be a Millionare? They are going to ruin a show that was fine in small doses. 2 days a week is too much.

Cashing in on something that won't last is actually very smart, people were talking about Millionaire non stop. It's not really about the show that's on, it's about setting the ratings bar during sweeps for advertising money.

If they had kept Millionaire at once a week, I seriously doubt it would have lasted longer than a season. Having the show with the most buzz in years on a few times a week guaranteed ratings.

zebop 03-10-06 10:29 PM

The show's probably not bringing in any ratings and Matt LeBlanc's contract's too high. Not shocked, at this point NBC's probably not making much on it.

3.5 million viewers on Tuesday for its return. 3.5!! That's not just bad, that's insanely bad for network TV. I'm fairly certain the "World's Most Outrageous ___" that they stick in there will draw twice as many viewers.

I like the show too, didn't think it was the greatest, but I liked the characters, so I was ready to go along with them.

kvrdave 03-10-06 11:28 PM

3.5 million viewers is insanely bad? I'll have you know that Fairly Odd Parents on Nickelodeon only had 3.88 million viewers on Feb. 27th. :grunt:

Well, except for the other episode of Faily Odd Parents on the same day that got 4.35 million viewers.

But still.....:grunt:

Yes, 3.5 milion viewers on a big-three network is insanely bad. Cable ratings are entirely different.

I hope this doesn't mean we are going through the whole game shows in Prime time again. We all know what happened after that. The Reality craze.
It's a lose lose situation. You either get Joey or Deal or No Deal.
NBC is sinking to New Lows!!
On the last show just have Joey wake up have Chandler be there.
Last two years were a "Dallas Like" Dream.

3.5 million? Oh wow...I liked the show as well, as much as I complain about it, it wasn't horrible--and could be very funny...

They've actually bumped it up to 3 times now, adding Wednesday, according to the Futon Critic.

This show really needs to be cancelled. I do enjoy it sometimes, especially Andrea Anders, but nobody is watching.

DVD Josh 03-11-06 09:18 AM

Bottom line - the show is not good, and people aren't watching it. It had more of a chance than most shows would get, so it had its opportunity to capture an audience.

 It was a joke.

I disagree. ABC was stupid to run Millionaire on four, even five nights a week. When it tanked, they had way too much time to fill and not enough programming. Look at what FOX has done with American Idol. By making it a once-a-year event, it is getting its best numbers ever in its 5th season. And they can build anticipation the rest of the year. That's smart.

DRG 03-12-06 10:45 PM

Wow, I guess returning the show to the lineup against a Tuesday American Idol wasn't a good idea. :) Of course, Fear Factor just got slaughtered in that time slot for NBC, too, and that was getting pretty good ratings last year on Mondays.

I think that is the point he was trying to make :)

Those are horrible ratings. I agree the show wasn't that bad. Sad to see such a successful show end with such a dismal spin off but I guess it is just history repeating itself yet again. There can only be so many Frasiers

Isn't the show basically done since the actress who played the neighbor left the show?

I blame the agent. Most annoying character in the history of television.

Chew 03-13-06 06:14 AM

I figured it was being pulled after it disappeared from my guide over the weekend. Oh well, I won't really miss it too much.

Charlie Goose 03-13-06 12:16 PM

First Mac & Cheese and now Joey. :(

Fok 03-13-06 03:00 PM

They need some guest stars on this show to make it more interesting.....maybe some old friends stars....hey why not, I'd even what those episodes

Morf 03-14-06 08:01 AM

Hmmm ... there were 2 or 3 episodes still on my TiVo guide as of yesterday. And yes, my guide had updated. :scratch2:
