Yeah, I think so.

I've got a custom NO MA'AM shirt I made about seven (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7) years ago.

For Christmas this year my girlfriend had a custom Polk High 33 football jersery made for me. :D2:

my favorite sitcom of all time. I thought Jefferson was a nice improvement over Steve, and Griff was a surprisingly solid addition to a show that was already pretty long in the tooth. The addition of Seven to the cast was a mistake and I think just accelerated the end.

There are a ton of legendary episodes...the one where the "Al Bundy Field" scoreboard gets accidentally blown up and the various groups that claim credit: The National Organization of Women, the National Orginzation of Fat Women, and the Government of France. I love that bit.

Or the epic struggle for the trophy with Bubba Smith.

Damn that's an awesome episode!

"Sure, I've had a little fame but you've had pie! I haven't eaten in 19 years!"

"That headline should've read 'Spare Tire crushes unidentified white boy at goal line.'"

I guess I'm the only one that didn't like the last few seasons that much with no ma'am being an excuse of a lack of stories between al and peggy. As with any good show, the ideas dry up and it must be put to rest.

One of my favorites was the hispanic reporter with 20 names that they had a few times a season. Then the shoe groupie, Bud's 50 year old virgin librarian with the glass figurine collection, when the daughter was dating the city councilman, jefferson being a spy and killing the guy at the baseball game and a bunch of others.

personally I hated the show when it first came out and started watching it around season 3.

If they had a proper send off that would of been great

Is the "lost" episode that never aired because the network thought it was too racy on any of the dvds? Read an article about it in TV Guide years ago. Something about Steve and Marcy going to a motel and they later find out the motel videdotapes the guests having sex. Steve and Marcy sue the motel. Al, seeing a way to get some cash, takes Peggy to the motel so he can sue too. The Bundys lose the case because the judge decides no "actual" sex took place, or something.

yeah, its in season 3 (or most outragous episodes vol 2), the episode in vol 2 has the original music, while the season 3 dvd has replaced shitty music.

AllHallowsEve 03-10-06 06:02 PM

I personally thought the show started to sink with Peggy's pregnancy followed by Seven and No-Mam

Basically, I thought the show was on life support for the half of it's run.

I didn't mind Jefferson. He was better than Steve in ways and I considered the 5th season to be a very good season.

Season 6 had a few good episodes. 7-11 for me were all painful to sit through and pretty much unforgettable sans a few stand alone episodes.

This could probably be it's own thread, but it looks like all the MwC fans are posting comments in this thread, so let me throw out a question:

If Married... with Children had been allowed to produce a finale episode, what would you have wanted to happen in it?

Spring Roll 03-11-06 11:51 PM

Anybody know what the deal with this episode with Matt LeBlanc in it was? It didn't feature any of the Married with Children stars but somehow I remembered the character mentioned, it looked like an attempt as a spin-off or something

UAIOE 03-12-06 02:09 AM

It was for a spin off.

It was for a short lived show called "Top of the Heap".

Seven sucked, but you have to give them credit for the milk carton gag afterwards (Seven was written out of the show without explanation, then a few episodes later somebody mentions something about how it seemed someone was missing. Then there's the zoom-in to the picture of Seven on a milk carton).
It may not have happened exactly like that, but my memory is kinda foggy.

Same for me,i loved those early seasons but this was the point where i was watching less and then eventually stopped watching.

Giantrobo 03-12-06 07:12 AM

I'm confused, wasn't Divine supposed to play Peggy's Mom before she died? Imdb say he was supposed to play her Uncle. What gives?

You know, when the series first started Al and Peg liked each other more. But as the series went on their sniping at each other grew.
