Scrubs - My Five Stages 2006-03-07 (Only 1 new episode tonight)

MY FIVE STAGES
9pm 2006-03-07 ALL NEW!

Spoiler:
DEATH IS A HARD PILL TO SWALLOW - J.D. (Zach Braff) and Dr. Cox (John C. McGinley) grow close as they go through the five stages of grief with their favorite patient who is declining in health. Meanwhile, Carla (Judy Reyes) forces Turk (Donald Faison) to go on a string of double dates, one of which includes Eliot (Sarah Chalke) and her booty call Keith (guest star Travis Schuldt). And when Dr. Kelso (Ken Jenkins) runs Ted (guest star Sam Lloyd) down with his car, Ted finally gains power over Kelso with a potential lawsuit. Neil Flynn also stars. TV-14

Sucks that there's only 1 new episode tonight; there is another episode at 9:30 but its a rerun (the one where Molly leaves).

Edit: Apparently the 2nd episode tonight is a Cast Favorite episode with commentary by Zach Braff. So apparently u can listen to the commentary while you watch. Here's the link to the download of the full commentary(24MB):

looks like it's a full hour again next week.

This week they're doing one new one and then a "Cast Favorite" episode.

New episode was fantastic. The cast choice was also great!! I was roling on the floor laughing and then welling up with tears the very next moment. Love this show!!

The commentary was pretty good. They should have had Donald or John on there with him, but it still made for a good listen. It would be cool if they did this every week to keep two Scrubs episodes on each week.

The new episode was good. They walked the funny/sad line that the show does so well. Nice to see Ted get some decent screen time.

Great use of Pearl Jam's "Long Road" at the end

I wasn't able to listen to the commentary, but the wife and I both thought it was cool as hell to see them do something like that.

So many funny moments (the bust of Ted and its toupe) and sad ones. I always enjoy the scenes where they let McGinley/Braff go from the funny to the sad in a matter of seconds.

John McGinley deserves an Emmy for this series before all is said and done.

Dave Foley was great as usual. It's a damned shame he isn't a regular on a sitcom these days. Maybe they could make him NPH's character's dad on HIMYM.

I was surprised to hear a PJ song - it's a very rare thing in television.

I liked Dave Foley's character; hopefully they will show a little more of him. This was a depressing episode overall but Ted still had me

That idea is GENIUS! Seriously, someone get Dave Foley and CBS on the phone together.

This episode was pretty solid...the roleplaying bit at the beginning was disturbing! Loved the use of PJ in the soundtrack...worked really well and it's not too often you hear them on a TV show. Scrubs has had really great use of music this season IMO. Lots of excellent song choices...any show that uses PJ, Coldplay, Bell Biv Devoe AND Fountains of Wayne in one season gets a thumbs up from me. This season has really been good so far and I'm sure it'll continue strong.

MATT

Shocking! A cast fav is an episode directed by a cast member!

I really liked how Dave Foley had a coffee cup in a few of his scenes, as that was a staple for him on "Newsradio" and "Kids in the Hall".

Great episodes, as usual. I really liked the Janitor trying to help Ted out, and I too thought it was neat they used a Pearl Jam song in the episode. Always good music on "Scrubs."

That was great. The delay was perfect.

I really liked Kelso's flashback about his dad and bike.

"If it wasn't for your bike, Daddy wouldn't be able to leave you and the family forever!"

Enjoyed the show as usual but enough with JD hating Keith already. Move on. He gave Eliott up now live with it.

Dave Foley looked like hell. Get that man a treadmill, STAT!

He could work as a recurring character.

I would like to see him back a bit more, he was good, and appears immune to Cox's ways.
