"Darfur"

Dr. Carter (Noah Wyle) is joined by Dr. Dakarai (Eamonn Walker) in the Sudanese desert as they work to treat hundreds of disease infested, and famine stricken people. Carter and Dr. Dakarai must spring into action to save a woman who was raped by a militant group. Meanwhile, back at County General, Dr. Clemente (John Leguizamo) returns from New Jersey wounded. Pratt (Mekhi Phifer) and Neela (Parminder Nagra) quickly work to save a 14 year-old involved in a hit and run accident, but Pratt is infuriated when he discovers who hit the young teen. Laura Innes, Goran Visnjic, Maura Tierney and Scott Grimes also star.

One thing is confirmed: Carter thinks he's bullet-proof. I could not believe he just wanted to keep on pushing the envelope, I was almost certain he'd get him and his guide shot because he wanted to right a dumb thing he did.

The Vic subplot needs to go away soon.

Neelah looks really cute in those deep blue surgical scrubs.

Pratt is looking at quite a bit of disciplinary action if he 'fesses up. Hmm...

I just love this show...no matter who the episodes center around, they are always interesting and is probably the only show I watch that keeps my interest for the WHOLE hour (I know...amazing..right..heh). Well maybe this and SVU.

I wanna see Sam on there more, she's hardly there at allllll.

Thought the writers were pushing it with the New Orleans reference.

Was expecting a bit more from the Carter story.

Wonder if Pratt will really admit he screwed up.

Can't believe that Clemente's story is still getting deeper.

Neither Sam or Ray had much (or any) screen time and I didn't miss that at all.

I hope Clemente goes away soon.

Has Pratt not been paying attention the last couple of years, you never tell Neela when you do something wrong:)

I liked the Carter part

Wow, I quit watching some time ago and think I recognize two people in that picture.

I was half-hoping Carter would get killed for being so stupid. Talk about a waste of a return.

You should recognize at least 4: Cary, Pratt, Luka and Abby.

So will Carter go buy his own security force next week?

hey, anyone know where they filmed the sudan scenes? I remember that they filmed some parts of the congo episodes in Hawaii.

Yeah that's what I kept thinking. What they really need out there more than anything right now is one of few doctors out there to come back with holes in him. There are much less important people they can be sending out to do this. Like Jack in Lost has to be the one doing too much of the dangerous stuff.Depends how long ago she stopped watching. If she goes back far enough she could only recognize weaver and Abby.

IIRC, I think I read an interview with Noah where he said it was filmed on location. I remember this because the interviewer asked him if he brought along his child and he commented that it was 103 degrees there, so they stayed behind.

Wow. Filming on location in Darfur. I'm sure the networks were doing backflips when they heard. I commend the producers for going there and showing what is going on, but as it is only a drama and not a documentary or news show, the risk is rather extreme. It could have been safer and looked the same on location some other place.

So there was more to this episode than just Carter in Africa? We thought the whole episode was about Carter, so we didn't watch it. Don't think we deleted it from Tivo yet, if it's worth watching.

If you skipped it because you thought it was Carter only, the Carter scenes were better than the Chicago scenes.

Thanks. We always liked Carter, but it seemed goofy to have a character-centric episode for a character that was no longer on the show. We felt the same way about the Iraq episodes with Gallant. They showed him in Iraq, even brought him back to marry Neela, then 'poof' he's gone again.
