"Love Monkey" (2/14)...what happened to it?
Was it cancelled? there was a repeat of NCIS. This would suck!

ABC seems to pulling the same thing with Crumbs as it's being benched tonight for a repeat of Grey's Anatomy again. All the new shows with gay characters are getting the axe on network TV: Emily's Reasons Why Not, The Book of Daniel, Love Monkey, Out of Practice (not canned but moved to a worse time slot). |

Surprised you didnt see the other thread that it was cancelled.
It's old news now. |
I have the 3 episodes DVRed that have aired so far. Since it is cancelled, are they worth watching?
|
I think they're worth watching; I really enjoyed the three episodes we did get.
|
well, this sucks. they didn't even give it a chance.
and to say this had "gay characters" or that it was cancelled due to it is a bit of a stretch since they had yet to delve into the sportscaster character and only showed that one snippet on the 1st show. |

And networks wonder why viewers are fleeing to cable.
This show would not have been canned after 3 eps if it were on BrAvo, Fx, US or TNT THis is really Bogus, I was just getting into this show |
I'm sorry to see it go I enjoyed it.
|
Jeez - I just caught last week's episode on my Season Pass. Guess I can scratch that.
At what point does a network decide it wasn't worth the effort to burn off what they've already paid to produce? I mean the show would have gotten as much viewership as a rerun - especially during the Olympics. Makes no sense. |
Tom Cavanaugh was supposed to be on Ellen a few days ago, but he was replaced with Jeff Probst. I guess he had nothing left to talk about.
|
I'm very disappointed that the show is cancelled already. The first 3 episodes were very good and I was happy to finally get a new CBS show without the letters CSI in it.
|
Maybe we should petition Vh1 to pick it up?
Seems like a good fit for them. |
I believe Kristin of EOnline indicated that there have been discussions with CW and that there may be a 5% or so chance that they pick it up.
|
It would've been nice if CBS had done the same thing as NBC (with Book of Daniel) and put the unaired episodes on their website. :(

From TVGuide.com
BREAKING NEWS: Sources confirm that UPN is in talks to acquire CBS' Love Monkey! Hooray! I'll (hopefully) have more on this in Friday's Ausiello Report. |
|
I would love to see it get a second chance, but I am not holding my breath.
|
isn't UPN owned by CBS still?
|
UPN? For a summer run-off of the un-aired eps?
Or CW, for a next season? |
Someone please tell me this is a bad joke. 26 different versions of Law & Order, stupid reality shows, and decent shows like "Love Monkey" get cancelled. I know life isn't fair...but jeez...at least give it a fighting chance!

I thought the (3 whole episodes) series was done well and was getting into it. I'd continue watching if it's given a second chance.
|
I would follow this show wherever it goes... maybe they can pull off a hail mary
|
Glad to hear this show may have life in it somewhere after all.

UPN May Want "Love Monkey"
Whenever a show gets cancelled, fans clamor at the possibility of it getting picked up by another network. Hell, I am still holding out hopes for "Arrested Development." A lot of you seemed to think that "Love Monkey" got pulled before its prime. Apparently, UPN thinks so too. There weren't many details, but Ask Ausiello over at TV Guide says that there's a rumor that the show will be picked up by the tiny network. Don't get your hopes too high though. Remember: As of fall, UPN will be no more. Whether they will be buying out episodes already made or plan to pick it up over at the CW, things look promising for the Tom Cavanagh/Jason Priestly drama. |
Looks like it is officially dead...sort of (from eonline.com):
From drewhere: When does Tom Cavanaugh's Scrubs episode air? And more importantly--any hope for Love Monkey? His Scrubs episode will air very soon. And actually, some sad news for Love Monkey. Despite what I told you earlier about the show being in talks with the CW, it looks like it really is over. At least, the castmembers seem to be released and moving on to other projects. I know Tom himself has been up for a new pilot, and Larenz Tate (who played Monkey's Shooter and who also starred in Crash) will star with Joe Pantoliano in Waterfront, a CBS drama that focuses on a charismatic but ethically challenged mayor of Providence, R.I. |
