If you were hiding vital, top-secret information, who would you LEAST like to see on the other end of your interrogation?

Jack Bauer

Preferred torture devices:
• Lamp-cord shock treatment
• Wet towel down the throat
• Hacksaw to the neck
• Gunshot to the knee
• Knife to the eyeball
• Kill family via video confernce
• Expose daughter to deadly virus

Sayid Jarrah

Preferred torture devices:
• Pliers (multi-purpose)
• Wire cutters to the pinky
• Knife to the throat
• Bamboo shoots under the nails
• Other pointy things

Jack Bauer, all the way. Sure, Sayid is good when he's provided with standard torture devices. But Jack can come up with some creative shit. The wet towel down the throat trick? Hacking a lamp to shock someone? That's one scary dude.

Chew 02-16-06 09:22 AM

Ummm, how about Jack Bristow??

dadaluholla 02-16-06 09:24 AM

Jack Bristow can face the winner of this round?
:)
I went with Bauer.

Michael Corvin 02-16-06 09:25 AM

Jack hands down. Sayid may have some effective methods but last night all it boiled down to was a beat down. Nothing special.

Geofferson 02-16-06 10:48 AM

I totally expected to see this poll sooner or later.

BassDude 02-16-06 11:29 AM

Jack.

Love Sayid, but we've seen more from Jack.

cdollaz 02-16-06 11:50 AM

Bauer. Bristow has the benefit of being a secret agent, which means he can do stuff and no one will ever know about it. Bauer has to do his stuff out in the open where people know about it.

NoDAK 02-16-06 11:55 AM

Heh, thread sounds kinda like a schoolyard comicbook arguement (eg. Hulk vs. Thing, Juggernaut vs. Blob). Much as I like the character of Sayid, he's just not in the same league as MR. Bauer --unless there's something really beasty hidden in an upcoming backstory/flashback :fc:.

I agree with Merkin about Jack's inventiveness. Jack knows how to tailor his interrogation techniques to suit the identities of his victims and what "tools" are readily available.

BTW Merkin you forgot to list one. Jack also used that one terrorist's family as leverage. Remember he pretended to order the execution his first born son, then threatened to work his way thru the rest as well.

Jack, although that picture of Sayid isn't exactly doing him any favors.

These two schmucks aren't even in his league.

Ah, yes. We'll call that one "Kill family via video conference." It's a shame he didn't go through with that one. He would have gotten MAJOR points for that.

I also added when he nearly sent Saunders's daughter into the infected hotel. That was fun.

onebyone 02-16-06 01:13 PM

Jack Bauer and torture just go hand in hand. I had to go with him.

Damfino 02-16-06 01:27 PM

Gotta go with Bauer and I do watch both shows.

BDLOU 02-16-06 02:38 PM

I gotta go with Sayid. Jack is always "running out of time" where Sayid has all the time in the world to get midevil on your ass.

das Monkey 02-16-06 02:39 PM

When Jack tortures someone -- on the off chance that he isn't stopped by a superior, or some red herring doesn't shoot his suspect before he can torture him, or CTU's Primary Plot Resequencer isn't on the fritz -- he actually gets valuable information (that is useful until the threat completely changes two episodes later). Sayid, on the other hand, only seems useful interrogating in flashback. Torturing for sport, they're both pretty good, but when torturing for information, this should be a landslide. Jack vs. Jack is the better comparison.

das

I'd forgotten all about that one. That was a great one.

gotrice487 02-16-06 05:48 PM

Bauer...nuff said!

Legolas 02-16-06 05:55 PM

Jack doesn't have problems with torturing people. And he can do it on the fly too.

Because that has already been been done to death.

Tommy Ceez 02-16-06 10:47 PM

I voted Jack BECAUSE weve seen him torture 1000x the amount of people as sayied, BUT, Jack does that RUSH! I NEED INFO NOW! torture, and if there wasnt a pressing need, I dont think he would even attempt it, HOWEVER, Sayied would torture you for your HS locker combo, and take DAYS to do it

Orbi-Wan Techno 02-17-06 06:00 AM

Jack would never break down and cry during an interrogation...

Sayid, well, I thought he needed a hug this week :-) .

Chauzer 02-17-06 03:23 PM

jack bauer, no contest

mike7162 02-17-06 07:43 PM

Jack Bauer, no question. And that whole concience thing really works against Sayid.

Bring on Jack Bristow!
