Cool. I used to make fun of people who watch and were obsessed with Survivor. Until Survivor: Palau came out and I DVR'd out of curiosity. Now I'm obsessed. I've watched the last two seasons "live" and all of the seasons so far (up to Amazon) on OLN.
Damn, I'm hooked.
I wish more seasons were available on DVD.

will this season last longer than the previous ones? seems like they send people to exile island instead of voting them out? I'm assuming people exiled are still active in the game since they can get the immunity idol and all... what's the deal?

The only way I could see it working is to exile someone at the reward challenge and bring them back just before the immunity challenge. The previews make it look like the person will be exiled for several days. You figure there are 3 days between each immunity challenge, so they would have to exiled the night of or the morning after council. They might even miss one or both of the challenges.

It might be interesting to have them brought back just before or AT the council. Giving them no chance for strategy and the tribe no chance to figure out if they found the idol.

Thursday nights just got more crowded. 5-way 8 pm conflict. I have to dump That 70s Show - can't cover it. No big loss though.

I can't believe we're about to watch another of these. Accounting for commercial-skipping, I have wasted approximately 127 hours of my life on this show. :sad:

And yet, I still watch...

Me too. Last season was my first.....but I have heard from fans that it was definitely not the best. I'm hooked! I need to rent/watch the previous seasons that are available.

Since we have a new season starting, just a word of advice:

Please do not put spoilers in the thread unless you use tags or the episode has already aired.

If you a posting a major spoiler because you know who won or who makes it to the end, please go one step further and put a warning above the spoiler. I know we shouldn't have to do this, but if you have a major spoiler it just might save somebody from ruining the season early.

Yay!! New Survivor Season!!

Looking forward to see how this Exile Island deal will work out and how the 4x4 tribe arrangement will play. And like every season, I hope for the time when Jiffy says "wanna know what you're playing for"..and they reply "No!".

Good start so far. I love the new twist that you can keep the personal immunity idol hidden even after the final votes are read and then reveal it. Much better then the way they did it last season.

I like Misty.

I just moved to the West Coast so now I have to train myself to not read these threads until after the show airs here. No spoilers yet but I was completely not thinking that it's airing right now back east. Yikes.

Dammit, had NO clue this was starting already. Stuck at work and nobody is home to set the Tivo. :(
