I didn't even know Malcolm was still on. Damn.

Yeah not a bad show... Sometimes I'll watch it on Friday if I'm flipping through the channels. |
Can someone fill me in as I think I missed a season or part of a season.
Where is Hal working? Last I knew he was being the patsy of his old company. Why did Francis leave the farm? I actually liked him on the farm. Reese is still 16 and in school, did he stop being a chef? And last I assume Malcolm has the Simpson's male gene, as he seems to be loosing his intellegence over the last few seasons I have seen. |
Malcolm is still good (although there are some issues, but it's still decent). That 70's Show just sucks and the plot is going nowhere slowly.
I won't even talk about Arrested Development :(. |

I always took it to mean Malcom in the Middle (of things). i.e. the main character & how everything around him affects him. |
the kids, from oldest to youngest:
Francis Reese Malcolm Dewey Jamie So now he's officially the middle child. cusm, i missed a lot of episodes, too, so i don't know the answers to your questions. |

I don't remember. Francis seems to be suffering from Chuck Cunningham syndrome lately. 3. I think Reese is at least 17. IIRC he flunked a year on purpose so he could stay in high school. He still cooks occasionally. 4. I started a thread on this subject last year. For me the show jumped the shark when they dumbed down Malcolm and made him more like Reese. For the last 2 seasons Dewey has been the smart one. |
That '70s Show has run out of gas for sure. I only watch out of habit and a lack of anything else interesting in that time slot.
Malcom is still a terrific comedy. I sure don't see anything coming to replace it that is any better. Hal is one of the great comedic characters on TV today. In fact, the recent episode where Hal was trying to help Dewey with a girl was flat hysterical. The show would have had to evolve some to keep it interesting and believable, but it could have been done. Arrested Development leaving is a crime against humanity. |
bill, that show was great. and i definitely agree that hal is the best part of the show.

I enjoyed this show when they were all teenagers (or at least looked like teenagers) but Since Eric left I have only seen bits and pieces of it and it's been a shadow of its former self. Not that it was ever terribly brilliant to begin with. Malcolm had the same problem - the kids grew up. I'm actually surprised the show is still on. I stopped watching it several years ago but whenever I catch bits and pieces of it it seems like the mom went from being slightly overbearing to being a complete psycho bitch. |

damn, I just realized that with both Malcolm and AD getting axed (if AD goes to Showtime I will only be watching it via dvds) that 'The Office' will be the only "sitcom" left on tv that I watch (not counting the animated comedies on Fox, as I do also watch them).
Here's hoping that another funny single camera comedy comes along that doesn't have a live audience or a laugh track! |
