2006 Golden Globes Award Show Discussion

Just turned on E and i see some gay guy squeezing Scarlett Johanson's "assets".

Btw, are those real?

Jadzia 01-16-06 07:41 PM

Golden Globes

I did not see a thread. I am watching on a delay, so I just saw Rachel Wiesz win. I was hoping for Michelle Williams, but I did not see either movie.
I wanted to see Michelle and her nursing boobs, but I noticed Rachel had some big ones going on. Did she just have a baby? I saw Busy Phillips sitting next to Michelle Williams, I guess she is baby Matilda's god-mother.

Jadzia 01-16-06 07:46 PM

Yay, Sandra Oh won.

Gosh, WTH happened to Drew Barrymore? She looks as wide as a house.

I guess everyone else is watching 24.

T.Bickle 01-16-06 07:52 PM

I'm pissed, I was really hoping that Jason Lee would win.

Williams didn't win because "Brokeback" will most likely take everything else and "Constant" did have some good buzz, especially for Weisz.

Well I'm hotelling in Chicago this week, so I figured I'd watch this, and catch 24 in HD on the Tivo when I get back. For the 24'ers that are checking in after it's over, Steve Carell's acceptance speech is definately worth checking out.

It must've been the moustache. Who won?

:fc: that Reese gets nuttin'.

Patman 01-16-06 08:24 PM

Weisz is expecting a baby.

B.A. 01-16-06 08:41 PM

Portman looked great w/ the short hair. And Scarlett.

Happy as hell that Hugh Laure, Steve Carell and Mary Louise Parker won.

Glad Weisz won even though I haven't seen the film yet.

Disappointed at the fact that Sandra Oh won.

Drew Barrymore did look like shite.

During her acceptance speech she thanked her "girls" and that made me laugh (although she was talking about a different set of girls).

I loved Chris Rock's presentation of the TV actress award. "Eva Longoria - Chico & The Man" rotfl
As I suspected Mary-Louise Parker swooped in and grabbed it from the Housewives. I guess maybe this will prevent them from arguing with each other over who won.

Now Mary-Louise Parker could taunt Billy Crudup (who dumped her when she was 7 months pregnant) "Where's your Golden Globe, golden god?"

"Continued success w/ those MasterCard commercials, Bill!"

Too bad Piven didn't win.

Melanie Griffith looks like such a hoosier w/ that hideous tattoo.

Gwyneth is so damn gorgeous.

Patman 01-16-06 09:12 PM

Congrats the Angster for Best Director.

Joeboo835 01-16-06 09:19 PM

What did John Travolta say at the beginning? I missed it.

Patman 01-16-06 09:21 PM

"Don't my hair plugs look great?"

conscience 01-16-06 09:32 PM

Travolta said something about thanking the male actors for raising the bar for people like him.

the aftermath 01-16-06 09:37 PM

Lost

Patman 01-16-06 09:40 PM

Felicity Huffman nabs a Best Actress GG for Transamerica.

conscience 01-16-06 09:40 PM

Polly Walker and Scarlett Johansson get my award for hottest award show goers.

Anne Hathaway gets my most disappointing award.

dcswirl 01-16-06 09:44 PM

Steve Carrell

the aftermath 01-16-06 09:48 PM

I think Philip just sharted.

Patman 01-16-06 09:49 PM

Philip Seymour Hoffman picks up a Golden Globe for best actor in a drama. He's the one I'm still backing for an Oscar as well.

conscience 01-16-06 09:50 PM

 He deserves to. What a great performance.

RichC2 01-16-06 09:54 PM

Hoffman was so incredibly good in Capote.

Ridiculously Ridiculously good.

And Brokeback won Best Pic - Drama.

Patman 01-16-06 09:54 PM

And BM takes home the Golden Globe for Best film (drama).

Patrick_N 01-16-06 10:01 PM

I'm really happy Philip Seymour Hoffman won. His performance in Sydney, Boogie Nights, Happiness, Talented Mr Ripley and Almost Famous turned me into a fan. Half of his movies on imdb have a rating of 7 and better, pretty impressive. Though that is probably more a skill in picking good roles and movies.
