Sybil Remake?
Say it isn't so...
A Remake Diagnosed For "Sybil" Posted: Tuesday January 10th, 2006 7:18pm Source: Production Weekly Author: Garth Franklin Veteran TV director Joseph Sargent is set to helm a remake of the award-winning 1976 telemovie "Sybil" reports Production Weekly. Based on the Flora Rheta Schreiber best selling novel, the original telefilm told the true story of Dr. Cornelia Wilbur (Joanne Woodward), an experienced psychiatrist faced with one of her most stressful cases ever - a 20-something school teacher (Sally Field) who's violent upbringing resulted in her developing 16 different personalities. The project is scheduled to begin filming in Nova Scotia later this month. |
Is this going to be a tele-movie or a movie?
I found the original to be creepy enough and had great performances from Woodward and Field. I still cringe when ever I see a broom. |
Oh my god, that miniseries scarred me for life! I wonder how well it would hold up today - they need to put the original out on DVD. I just did a quick search to see if such a thing existed and it looks like VHS tapes are going for $60+.

As long as they get Alicia Witt to play Cybill's hot daughter again, I'm in.
