In Justice *Series Premiere*- "Brothers and Sisters" - 1/01/06

"Brothers and Sisters"
Spoiler:
Hoping to right judicial wrongs, members of the National Justice Project re-evaluate the case of a 32-year-old former junkie who is in prison for killing her father while robbing his house.

Sure it looks sappy, preachy, and David E. Kelly is involved somehow, but there's nothing else on

Just for kicks, the ex-cop lead in the show (Jason O'Hara) is married to TMNT II's April O'Neal (Paige Turco).

Good to see Kyle MacLachlan getting work again.

I'll check out the pilot tonight... but I don't have my hopes up. Not quite sure if it will steal from Crossing Jordan's audience.

It's normal night will be Friday starting on the 6th. Grey's Anatomy returns to its normal spot next week.

You know waht... it really wasn't that bad.

Sure you could figure it out before they did, but I liked the interaction of the cast and how bored Kyle was with his "$650 and hour" job and how much he loved doing "field work."

I added the SP to my TiVo, I've got nothing but Reba recording on Friday nights... I'll give IJ another episode or two... unless it fails like most other Friday offerings.

I'll watch it again just for Marisol Nichols and Constance Zimmer.

I thought it started off well but I was losing interest towards the end. I can't believe it would take them that long to figure out the their was a daughter, she had the same last name as her mom.

I couldn't get past the first 15 minutes. . .just as well, as I already have a very full plate to watch. (I am, however, still giving "The Book of Daniel" a try this week.)

Yeah to that. I hadn't even set my season passes up for yet the new midseason shows. So I guess I won't be watching this one. No use now that I missed the premiere.

My Tivo says that the next episode will be the "Pilot". So this episode that aired was not the pilot? Are they airing them out of order already? Or will this "preview" episode be aired again at a later date?

This Friday is the pilot so I don't think you'll have missed anything if you didn't tune in Sunday. You'll probably be less confused about a few things.

I didn't think it was that bad. Muad'Dib was funny, and the cast gelled pretty well. It's the same ol' same ol' and will get boring after a while, but for what it was, I enjoyed it.

As for the episode order, it's pretty clear from the clips in the previews and what happened in this episode that there's an episode setting up Marisol Nichols' character that was supposed to come before. I'm assuming that's the pilot.

Always thought this was a Bochco show, since it has the word Justice in the title and it has the girl from the show Blind Justice.

Actually, 2nd in production order, 3rd aired. I have no idea why ABC decided to scramble them. I don't think any one episode has been much better than the rest. The intro-Nichols episode was decent as well. I'm enjoying this show.

I watched episode 4 ("Confessions") this morning and I am really liking this show. Muad'Dib is really starting to make this series great. I like hism tactics and his arogance. His outburst in court was over the top, but not nearly as over the top as his reaction when he found out the national media hadn't covered it yet.

I missed last week's episode, but... ahem... a little birdy just delivered it, so I'll watch it this afternoon.

I liked him in the jail cell asking about the media coverage and then handing out the cafe mocha lattes.

Re: Golden Boy (1-3)

All right, they've really jerked the order around with this show. I've cut and pasted the order of the shows below (courtesy of EpGuides.com) and it looks like we got 3-1-2-5-4, so next week is 4 and after that we'll 6 and then it'll follow normally.

Code:
Season 1

  1. 1- 1 103 1 Jan 06 Brothers and Sisters
  2. 1- 2 101 6 Jan 06 Pilot
  3. 1- 3 102 13 Jan 06 Golden Boy
  4. 1- 4 105 20 Jan 06 Confessions
  5. 1- 5 104 27 Jan 06 Another Country
  6. 1- 6 106 3 Feb 06 Cost of Freedom
  7. 1- 7 107 10 Feb 06 Nexus
  8. 1- 8 108 17 Feb 06 The Public Burning
  9. 1- 9 109 24 Feb 06 Victims
 10. 1-10 110 3 Mar 06 Badge
Personally I don't see why they did this mix-up. The pilot was a great introduction, but I can see how they might want to tout that Marisol Nichols in on the show, but they could have gone 3-1-2-4-5, so I'm curious to see why they swapped 4 and 5 around.

Maybe episode 4 is the first time they lose and they didn't want it to air too soon.

Anyways, the show is still great and Mau'Dib's "Hero of the Month" from BNT (Black Network Television) was a pretty good side story, with his trying to even out the diversity of the NJP... "Look around, what do you see? White people."

"Just say African American, you sound like you are talking about a bunch of alcoholics."

I'm all caught up now. I had to *ahem* find the capitol case episode (The Public Burning) and I was almost moved to tears part way through ("I don't know five people.") and was upset by the ending.

Wow. I really like this show.

Too bad the ratings won't let it survive (it's got a 2.6/7 share) but I wish ABC would let it stick around. Guess we'll find out in May.

Muad'Dib really makes this show work.

Episode 11 ("Lovers") was on tonight and I really liked this one. Muad'Dib put his career on the line and showed his humanity.

Too bad the ADA's watchdog Mr. Rocha (which sounds like they took a page from The Pretender... can someone say "Mr. Lyle") was right there waiting for him.

I really like this series, and I hope ABC gives it a chance for a second season.

Episode 12 "Side Man"

Wow! Conti is my new hero.

I loved how he "explained" to Rocha that he can't be intimidated or pushed around.

... then again, I like what Maud'Dib Swain did to get Rocha to drop the charges. Looks like thats two bullets dodged.

However I will say that I didn't like the 'relationship' between the inmate and Brianna... that just seemed really weird.

Only one episode left in the original 13-week order. I hope it gets renewed.
