List your favorite and worst TV "moments" of 2005 -- Beware of spoilers...
Since we will be discussing specific moments of the episode, I guess a caution about spoilers is required for those that are watching shows on DVD.
Whether you want to indicate whole episodes or just list specific moments, it's up to you.
Here is my list for favorite and worst TV moments of 2005:
Best (In no particular order)
- Lost - Episode 2.01 - "Man of Science, Man of Faith"
Jack seeing Desmond again at the bunker on the island (Brother) -- I loved the conclusion of this episode with Desmond and felt that this was a much stronger episode than the season one finale.
- Alias - Episode 4.22 - "Before the Flood"
The car crash -- I wasn't an Alias fan before but I was able to watch the season finale and the ending made me go back and rewatch the show on DVD.
- CSI: LV - Episode 5.23 and 5.24 "Grave Danger Part I and II"
Nick being buried alive -- Tarantino wrote and directed this two part episode.
- Veronica Mars - Episode 1.22 "Leave it to Beaver"
Finding out who killed Lilly Kane and who was really Veronica's dad -- I love this show.
- Family Guy - Episode 5.04 "PTV"
The FCC episode -- So many good moments like the opening credits done in "Police Squad" format, Stewie running over Homer Simpson and Stewie and Osama Bin Laden fight, etc.
- Arrested Development - Episode 3.05 "Mr. F"
The fight between George Michael and Tobias.
- Arrested Development - Episode 2.16 "Meet the Veals"
The whole exchange between George Sr. and Franklin in regards to Lucille.
- My Name is Earl - Episode 1.08 "Joy's Wedding"
So many laugh out moments. Frankly, the best episode of the show so far IMHO. The wedding at the park, wedding registry at the liquor store, "Bust a Move", Crabman and Earl moments montage and Catalina dancing.
- Supernatural - Episode 1.01 "Pilot"
The ending of the episode was good.
- How I Met Your Mother - Episode 1.01 "Pilot"
Finding out that Robin is actually "Aunt Robin" -- We'll see about that...
- 24 - Episode 4.07 "Day 4: 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM"
The return of Tony Almeida.
I also liked Episode 4.19 or as I call it "When Chloe turns herself into Rambo ".
Worst (In no particular order)
- Fox reducing the number of episodes for Arrested Development in Season 2 and 3.
- The death of Monica Mancuso in "Las Vegas". Way silly and cheesy even for "Las Vegas" standard.
- The resolution of Horatio Caine and his brother Raymond storyline in "CSI Miami".
- The popularity of "The War at Home".

The composite sketch of the South Park kids, an absolutely hilarious part to an otherwise dull season.

Six Feet Under
1. The death of Nate
2. The final episode (so much emotion packed into an hour and ten minutes - it's hard not to sit there with your jaw on the floor if you are invested in the characters)
Nip/Tuck
The season three finale. Not because it was good, but because this horrible season is finally over. And hopefully they can start over fresh in the future.
Lost
Since last season moments can be included:
The entire episode: 'Deus Ex Machina' including Locke's backstory. Heartbreaking.

I'd have to agree with the second post about Six Feet Under.
Not only was the end of the series the best thing on television this year, but also the worst because we don't get any more.
I cried for hours and truly mourned for days.

Arrested Development Episode 3.03, "Forget Me Now" - Buster seeing Rita's seal pack and going crazy and Gob swallowing the Forget Me Now pills after telling Steve Holt that he's his father.
How I Met Your Mother Episode 6 "The Slutty Pumpkin" - Ted confessing to Barney dressed as a Penguin.
Grey's Anatomy Episode 2.04 "Deny Deny Deny" - When Christina can't stop crying.
Veronica Mars Episode 2.01, "Normal is the Watchword" - the return of
Charisma Carpenter. She's basically playing an older, sluttier version of Cordelia Chase, but whatever, I still liked her.
I think that a lot of the episodes of the OC qualify for some of the worst or, at least, most disappointing TV moments of 2005.

Best: For me it was just "discovering" Veronica Mars...
Worst: The cancellation of Kitchen Confedential. Not a great show by any means, but there are so few shows I am into, and I just hate Fox everytime they cancel anything.

This one from Being Bobby brown. This was posted in EW and I cant imagine rewriting it would make it any funnier....
On Being Bobby Brown, Bobby recalls using his hand to alleviate Whitney's constipation. Admittedly, Bravo's train-wreck summer reality spectacle had its share of compelling toilet humor. (Whitney's euphemism for heading to the loo — ''I'm about to drop it on the one'' — is a welcome addition to the poop-cultural lexicon.) But episode 2 went right down the pipes when Bobby recalled an incident in which he ''had to dig a doodie bubble out of [Whitney's] butt,'' prompting his wife to holler, ''That's black love!'' Maybe so, Ms. Houston, but it's also the kind of ardor better kept to oneself.

Saturday Night Live "Christmas Episode"
I haven't watched this show in years and decided to DVR it.
Jack Black's Kong song, Christmas Time for the Jews, and Lazy Sunday were priceless. Great episode.
