The Chronic of Narnia -- SNL Skit

Funny SNL skit. I saw it when it first aired, it actually woke me up and I couldn't stop laughing. I can see most of you bashing it but it's good dumb fun.

(mods - I know, it's tv show but it's referencing a movie)

Merry Christmas everyone!!!!

The Chronic of Narnia

FiveO 12-23-05 06:13 PM

Guess I just don't get it.

Guess not. I thought it was hilarious. ITunes is also offering a free download.

Jackskeleton 12-23-05 08:06 PM

it's not the chronic of Narnia.. it's the CHRONIC-WHAT-cles OF NARNIA!

The lonley island really is the best thing to hit SNL for a while now. A shame they waste their talent with such a shitty rest of SNL cast and crew.

Notice who's in "the bu" .. Oooh blonde doctor!

DodgingCars 12-23-05 08:17 PM

Hey Jack,

How are the Lonely Island guys associated with SNL? Did they hire them all? Or are they just getting some recognition because of Andy Samberg?

DodgingCars 12-23-05 08:18 PM

Nevermind I found it on NBC's website:

"Samberg’s “Lonely Island” cohorts Jorma Taccone and Akiva Schaffer now write for SNL as well."

Cool. I really like Samberg. He has potential of being their next star.

JumpCutz 12-23-05 08:22 PM

Yes, funny. "Droppin' Hamiltons...."

Waste their talent?

All they've done is recycle their old bits for SNL.

And Samberg needs a fucking haircut.

BTW, as indicated on the SNL thread, the video is a free download over at iTunes.

Search for "Lazy Sunday".

And even recycled old bits are too good for what SNL is these days.

 True. The highlight of the Baldwin/Shakira(well, Shakira aside) episode was the brief clip of the Chevy Chase & Richard Pryor "honkey" skit as tribute for his passing.

BTW, I'm with FiveO. It was funny as a rap video starring goofy white guys, but the lyrics and tie in with Narnia are lost on me.

Really? A Gangsta rap about going to see Narnia -- nothing? Or "I'm like Aaron Burr when I'm droppin' the Hamiltons!" -- nothing?

Count Dooku 12-25-05 04:08 AM

Ya see, "the chronic" is a slang expression for marijuana, and lots of rappers make references to drug use in their songs --Dr. Dre even titled one his albums "The Chronic", but in this parody, they are rapping about a pro-Christian children's movie.

It's all about the Hamiltons, baby!

SuckaMC 12-26-05 02:28 AM

I haven't seen Narnia but I found that funny. A "hard core" rap about seeing Narnia, sneaking in snacks and getting cupcakes. Nice
