NBC Ch. 4 News @ 6pm (Friday 12/23)...anyone know who sang the song?

It played during the end credits of the New York Ch. 4 NBC Evening News. As the credits of the whole staff scrolled.

It went..."Merry New York Christmas"...

Any help would be so appreciated.

Um I dont know if it was a different person or not, but I think the popular version of that song is sang by Rob Thomas from Matchbox 20 (an Orlando band btw...)
