the shield

it's such a close race between The Shield and Rescue Me... so far, RM has really packed a punch in it's first two seasons...much like the Shield did... Season 4 of the Shield was just alright, but I think only time will tell which series is truly better...

Both have great supporting casts and excellent leads....the overuse of music montages ending episodes on Rescue Me makes me lean a little bit more towards Vic and the Shield...So I'll just say that the Shield has delivered 3 spectacular seasons and 1 good one. Rescue Me has delivered 2 very good seasons...when they are both said and done, I'll be able to tell you who wins.

Nip/Tuck barely registers with me...watched Season 1 on disc...it was good but nothing I'm going out of my way to stay current with.

Rescue me. Havent seen the Shield. Nip/Tuck seems like a late night soap opera.

Rescue me is my favorite show running and my favorite show of all time next to seinfeld. Cant wait untill season 3, just wish the seasons were longer and that season 2 would come out on dvd already.

Even though it's not returning next season, my vote would have gone to Over There, another FX original. Fantastic cast. A shame this wasn't better received.

2. Nip/Tuck
3. Rescue Me

It is interesting to note that the people who haven't voted for The Shield are people who haven't even seen the show. Having seen all three, I would also say The Shield is clearly the best of the three.

I've watched all three, and have to go with The Shield.

My ranking:

1. The Shield: I miss it when it's not on, and look forward to it every week it is. I own all four seasons on DVD so far.
2. Nip/Tuck: I have only purchased season 1, and may not buy any others--although I've seen all three seasons.
3. Rescue Me: I enjoy it, but it's not outstanding.

The Shield. I haven't watched Rescue Me yet, and though I enjoyed Nip/Tuck's first season, I thought it went downhill after that.

The Shield is just killing the competition here. It's not like Nip/Tuck and Rescue Me are slouches, so getting 60% of the vote is pretty darn impressive. It would be like Scrubs getting 60% of a vote between it, The Office (US), and My Name is Earl.

I like Rescue me but the drinking storyline got old last season!

I ended up going with Rescue Me. I've been rewatching the 4th season of shield on dvd this week and it just hasn't grabbed me the way it did the first time through...

i'd still stand by my rankings of shield, rescue and then nip...but I have to chime in that this past week I rewatched Shield Season 4 on disc and LOVED THE HELL OUT OF IT... Thought it was just OK on TV, but it was one of the best when watching on disc...great season.

I also gave Nip/Tuck season 1 another shot...I don't know what I was thinking before when I didn't really get into it... LOVED IT...currently watching Season 2...a really great show...sometimes it jumps the shark, but the great actors on the show always make it interesting... man...to think I haven't been following this show is really upsetting now...what the hell was I thinking. (as a note, also rewatching Rescue Me season 1....still excellent)
