I just watched some of this show cuz of Jerry Rice but he was actually pretty good. I knew what to expect from Master P so stepped out of the room when he was on.

This was my first time watching this and I just have a couple problems - annoying audience cheer at every dance move (I prefer to listen to the music and have the audience politely clap at the end :)) and wanted to see more of the partners in training.

big whoppa 01-06-06 03:12 PM

I missed most of the show only catching the 98 degrees Lachey dancing, Master P, and Tia practicing. Lachey style reminded me of the NKOTB kid. Master P looked dreadful.

Patman 01-06-06 07:25 PM

Yep, that hip-hop vote is working some magic. Too bad, I wanted to see Kenny last one more week.

I expect Giselle and Stacy to do well considering they have dance backgrounds. Lachey looked pretty natural, but again, there is some dance background with 98 Degrees.

I kept waiting for Rice to do some kind of Super Bowl shuffle.

I love Ashly, and maybe I'm not alone. Be it hip-hop vote or Ashly love, I'll take it. Hopefully P tries even a little bit to keep her around longer. Sad to see Kenny go, since that "two children lost in the woods" thing was brilliant. Oh, and thank God they got rid of that awful co-host. This new girl's over-enthusiasm creeps me out a bit, but she's hot and at least somewhat competent.

Un-fucking-real. -ohbfrank-

Master P....what a train wreck. Dude, I understand you want to show that there are other things kids can do besides hip-hop, but this is a ballroom competition...at least look the part. Your "message" is lost if you try to change what the competition is about. Lose the hat, put on some dance shoes and act like you want to be there for goodness sakes!!!!!!!!

My wife and I are Ashly fans as well and were wondering... if Romeo gets better can he come back to the competition?

I sure hope so.

... and just to be funny, the last time I saw Master P on TV he was trying to buy WCW from Ted Turner/Eric Bischoff. ;)

zebop 01-10-06 12:43 PM

I think Kenny Mayne didn't last because some people didn't find him funny. On the other hand Master P. looks so out of it, now that's funny...

big whoppa 01-10-06 01:14 PM

I had no idea who Kenny is. Seems like he was trying too hard to be funny.

Unbelievable, Ashley went to hug Master P after the news that they were kept in the competition and he looked like he didn't want to hug her or even be there. Why did he even bother to fill in for his son?

fujishig 01-10-06 01:53 PM

Yeah, STAYING on the show has to be the worst thing for Master P... though I can't see how he's not the next one out this week.

I've never seen the show before... do they break out into other genres, or is it just Waltz and Chacha? Also, now that they only have a week between shows, does that dancing get worse?

Loved Jerry Rice's partner, though. Since it's mostly a popularity contest, I'm sure he'll go pretty far. Not too sure about the cross-marketing between this and WWE, so even though I think Stacy is good, I'm not sure how far she can go. It was funny that her dance instructor probably expected someone like Chyna, though.

I didn't really watch much of it last season, but I don't remember anything wildly out of the ballroom thing. That's the main reason I preferred Fox's So You Think You Can Dance, because they threw in some varying styles there. You had the classic ballroom stuff, salsa, even hip hop and disco.

They've been hyping it on the website and have featured clips and promos from it on their shows. I'm still not sure if there will be a huge crossover audience, but WWE is trying at least.

Patman 01-10-06 06:04 PM

There are different dancing styles that will be displayed over the course of the contest (to challenge the couples).

Patman 01-13-06 12:38 AM

Stacy Keibler and her partner Tony were ridiculous tonight, that was simply Hot Hot Hot. Wow.

Drew Lachey's got a good partner in Cheryl.

Giselle's dancing is still a little hard-edged, like someone with too little body fat, but very muscular.

big whoppa 01-13-06 02:10 AM

Damn. Missed the show again.

Patman 01-13-06 06:52 AM

Stacy and Tony scored a 29 (out of a possible 30).

Struz 01-13-06 07:53 AM

Stacy is so hot !

Her and her partner or Drew and his partner are the 2 best teams.

I'm sick of Giselle already. If she says "inner latina" or "Rosalita" again
I'm going to puke.

Red Dog 01-13-06 09:00 AM

Master P looking like a buffoon, again. -ohbfrank-

Obligatory  for Stacy.

Yeah, that was pretty insane. I had to pause the TiVo and take a shower when they were done.

Btw, this post is for the victims of Katrina.

Don't forget - you're not a professional poster either.

Which reminds me, can America please, for the love of God, vote her off the show? Perhaps if she were even mildly relevant in the last decade, it would be easier to tolerate her annoying self-importance.

Master P is single-handedly making me NOT want to tune in. He is absolutely pathetic. That one elder judge made a good point: you wouldn't be wearing those stupid "P Miller" shoes on the basketball court, why wear 'em on the dance floor?" Of course P had some inane response like he always does to that question. It's true he only had a fraction of the time to practice as other contestants did, but come on, at least dress and ACT the part. Is it insulting to your "ghetto" mates if you look like you are trying?

I really feel sorry for Ashley, she deserves someone who at least pretends like they care.

Ranger 01-13-06 02:08 PM

I don't get it, was Master P dressed like Elvis or something?

Hope my boys george hamilton and jerry rice and their partners get some more votes. :)

{Chandler Bing}Can she be any more annoying?{/Chandler Bing}

Good lord honey, stop it. You're just a decent-looking middle-aged woman lucky to be on the show. I had to double-check when they said she was an "Oscar-winning actress" - yeah, 30 years ago.

She looked crazed in front of the judges and when the scores were being read. Odds are decent she'll commit suicide when she's booted off - she takes it that personally.

Stacy looks incredible, like she could be a pro if she really worked on it. Kind of a weird forehead vein thing going on though when she's done but nothing she can about that. Giselle looks great for her age (or any age really).

So far it's much better than last year.
