There weren't a whole lot of LOL moments here, but it's the first episode in a while that felt fresh to me. Even though they did a common theme (Simpsons visit a foreign land) and featured a character that's been in many episodes, this didn't have that "recycled plot" feeling I have gotten from most of the other decent episodes.

A better episode than we've been getting lately. I liked the dig at Family Guy. Loved the return if the rake joke.

And to SexualPudding--
The fact that Sideshow Bob will be in it needed to be spoiler tagged when Kelsey Grammer's name is right there in the unspoilerized cast list, not to mention the title making it more than obvious?
No shit, that doesn't make any sense.
Put "did" up front, and drop the second "ed" from "needed".

Certainly a more enjoyable episode than normal. Bob is always a welcomed sight.

The only moment I laughed out lout for was the Family Guy/American Dad jab. The rest was mildly humerous. I have to say, probably my least favorite Sideshow Bob episode, but it was far from being horrible, IMO.

Why? Do you even watch that channel? They showed commercial previews of the Simpsons with Sideshow Bob in them. What's the spoiler about it, anyway?

Although certainly not a spoiler, seeing the "rake to the face" gag in the promo commercials completely ruined the joke in the episode.

I liked Homer's rant about how Italy should be remained a confederation of city-states. His grasp on Italian history was hilarious--what else are aqueducts for?

So all of our bases are covered. Personally, I think they kind of straddle the line between "decent" and "meh" with moments of "pretty good" myself.

I liked the episode.

The best part for me was Krusty rendition of the opera "Pagliacci" and Homer's line to the old Italian lady to "How come you don't take the time to learn my language. I took the time to eat your food."

It seems odd that they would show this one just a week or 2 after the Lisa learns Itallian episode. I know that continuity and the Simpsons don't mix, but this and now Homer is working at the plant again just seemed like some of the worst continuity the show has had.

Simpsons joke comes 35 years late!

I have to admit that was the funniest part for me, too. Seems I'm always laughing hardest at the in-jokes.

Most of the viewers were probably scratching their heads at Krusty's lyrics. Circa 1970 Kellogg's had a Rice Krispies commercial with an Italian family singing the dialogue, which included the lament about running out of Rice Krispies.

APRIL 2010: Here's the commercial in question.

LOL. Whatever-read it again. The fact that the question was lengthened by the sections inside the commas doesn't change the fact that it was still a valid question. Someone else managed to understand it perfectly fine, so what is your excuse? You are going to attempt to give me a crash course in proper sentence structure now? I really appreciate your concern, but I'll pass on that one, Champ.
