Once again, House shows what a great medical dramedy it is.

The best part was House's bribe/blackmail of the transplant surgeon. Hilarious.

Loved the turnabout, with Wilson's closing line: "I guess I'm his best friend."

That was a great ep - and what a well-written show. For a show that had so much cutting between past and present, it was easy to follow.

The bribe scene was great.

WHOA! Didn't see THAT coming! (The restructuring of the hierarchy, that is. I had a feeling House was gonna get a professional smackdown one day.) And the previews indicate that it could have been orchestrated....

Patman 11-29-05 09:06 PM

What's also really good about this show is the cinematography, it's definitely a cut above the regular stuff on TV nowadays.

I was wondering who it was going to be because I hadn't heard anything about a "special guest star" or anything. This should be good.

Patman - I have loved how this show looks since the pilot - and HD makes me appreciate it even more.

Best episode since "Three Stories" last year. House is simply the best written show on television (network TV, at least).

For me, what is even more amazing about this show (aside from how good it is) is the fact that it is so completely unbelievable and yet I love it. Typically, for a non-sci-fi/fantasy show I gripe when things are out of touch with reality this much. But this show is just so amazingly well-written, acted, and filmed, that I could not care less about the weird bizarro world it has created, I just sit back and enjoy it.

Hugh's face when he asked the transplant doctor if he had an opening at 4pm was hilarious.

Will be interesting to see how House manages under "supervision".

Great bribe scene.

Movielib hit the nail on the head.

This is the best "House" episode since "Three Stories" from the first year. And like "Three Stories", I think "The Mistake" will surely get an Emmy win for Best Writing.

What a great episode! How cpuld a show with such serious subject matter (death of a parent, malpractice, terminal illness x 2) be so hilarious?

fumanstan 11-30-05 08:59 PM

I thought of last year's "Three Stories" episode when I was watching this as well. While the majority of the episodes main criticism is the formulaic nature of the show, the writing and the excellence of episodes such of these make this the best show on television for me :)

Patman 11-30-05 09:05 PM

What was fun about this episode was the unreliable narrator point of view, and it highlights how much we humans can embellish the accounts of past events when it suits our needs.

Who didn't think of the great "Three Stories" ep as they were watching this? I sure as hell did. :D

It's all I could think of too. Unlike others, though, I think of these two as the only great episodes. The rest are just OK to me (funny but repetitive). But "Three Stories" kicked all kinds of ass, and so did this. I wish they'd do more of them, but I guess then they wouldn't be as special.

My favorite moment was the "you mean there's more?" look from Cuddy.

The resemblance to "Three Stories" doesn't diminish the quality of the episode. You could argue that case for a lot of great tv shows. Personally, "Autopsy" remains my favorite ep of the season so far.

I'm such a puss.

Great episode.

Loved Forman being the main man from now on.

Charlie Goose 12-01-05 09:32 AM

Very well done episode, both writing and directing. Only House would blackmail a transplant surgeon, then go ahead and rat him out to the wife anyway.

MrX 12-03-05 02:34 AM

What was great was how the bribe scene set up a joke later on when the brother comes in and says he bribed the med tech and House tells him "You bribed someone, that is totally unethical"

Wilson's line at the end was great as well.
