I'm looking forward to tonight for the first time in a while.

Gizmo 11-17-05 10:56 PM

Looks like a 2 week hiatus...during November sweeps?

Wait, shit, its Thanksgiving next week, duh.

SexualPudding 11-17-05 11:01 PM

I know it was for character development and all, but Ryan not fighting was lame as all shit. It felt like I was watching an after school special.

Taylor Townsend is kinda cute...

Gizmo 11-17-05 11:18 PM

Ive liked Taylor since her first episode. Im getting sick of the core 4...Somewhat miss the secondary characters of S1/2

Michael Sheridan 11-18-05 05:48 AM

I was hoping that Jeri Ryan thing was going to end with more fireworks, but as long as she leaves, i'll take it any way I can get it.

lordwow 11-18-05 05:58 AM

I kind of sympathize with Taylor... but I guess that would be pitying her haha. I can see why Seth would find her attractive at least in terms of her intellect versues Summer.

Ya, the Ryan fighting thing was kinda lame, but so was kidnapping Marrisa.

Great line by Julie about being the only manipulative bitch in town.

Pretty good episode, next week is Thanksgiving, and the next episode looks like they're going to start some new plotlines. We'll see how that goes.

Daniel-A 11-18-05 06:15 AM

I was totally hoping something would go wrong with the fight, like the Jesse guy throwing a punch and Ryan actually ending up gutting the beach ass. Too bad.

As for Taylor I thought she was hot ever since she was on Complete Savages.

Cancer Man 11-18-05 07:13 AM

I kind of like Taylor, she's turning out to be alot more interesting than that other dud of a character, the Dean of Dicipline, she's evil and pathetic at the same time. I hope I see more of her in later episodes.

The useless Charlotte sub-plot has finally drawn to a close, but at least Julie has something do and gets to take out the trash.

Tom Banjo 11-18-05 07:36 AM

Taylor is hot, but in a psycho stalker kind of way. I hope, though, that Seth doesn't drop Summer for her, because it'd be too much of a re-hash of season 1 with Anna.

Patman 11-18-05 08:04 AM

Anyone think Ryan was going to dry hump his heavy bag at the end of the episode? Wait that didn't come out right...

Jonny2k1 11-18-05 10:38 AM

I defintely think Taylor is pretty hot; however, I don't know if I would ever pick her over Summer. It would be nice to have another character to go with the core four, although I still think Luke should be there. Johnny, other than having a cool name, doesn't seem to fit the group well. I think Chilly would be a better addition; maybe Taylor and that dude could hook up since he's a Seth clone, albeit one who is popular and enjoys outdoor activities.

Other than everyone not wanting Ryan to fight, what was the point of him not fighting? He obviously couldn't fight the DUDE at school since he can't get into trouble there, but what about outside of school? Is he still on probation from the stolen car? They should have fought; Ryan did pretty much sucker punch the DUDE first, although he was protecting the psuedo-emo-surfer guy.

B.A. 11-18-05 09:35 PM

Ryan is trying to be a better person and not solve everything w/ the fists of fury.

I liked how Julie gave Charlotte the "one manipulative bitch in town" speech and then gave her the little fake kiss on the cheek before she left.

I still don't think Taylor is cute. Hopefully, S/S will kill her w/ kindness.

Overall, I didn't think it was that bad of an ep.

Patman 11-18-05 09:58 PM

Personally, for me, the highlight of the episode was the "Bring It On" cheer by Summer and Marisa.

Rocketdog2000 11-18-05 10:34 PM

Not that it's saying all that much - but I thought this was one of the better episodes of this season, so far. It was definitely the closest thing to The O.C. of old I've seen this year. Seemed like all the characters were actually on thier game this time out.

I concur, this episode and the last has had a Season 1 feel to it. I think it's the rich-people parties.

Chauzer 11-19-05 07:50 PM

seth better not mess things up w/ summer

sureAV421 11-19-05 08:06 PM

he has to in order to make this show watchable again.

Why would you keep watching if it is unwatchable? Makes no sense. It either is watchable since you are watching, it is watchable and you don't know, or it isn't watchable and you don't watch.

Well stated. I do get sick of the idiots who keep posting "this show really sucks...can't wait until next week".

Look. It's a cheesy drama. That's it's appeal.

My only complaint is that the show at least used to be a cleverly written cheesy drama -but this year it's hardly been even that. I would never say the show sucked - because I don't think it does. Still, I hold out that it may return to being as good as it used to be, 'cause I like these charcters, and that's why I keep tuning in every week.

Daniel-A 11-20-05 12:52 AM

Rocketdog, fwiw I didn't point that at you. Nor have I seen you just talk crap about a show you are watching still. It just gets frustrating. I go into certain threads with a real niche appeal and a lot of the time that is the kind of stuff I read. "This show sucks." "It is nothing like it used to be." Blah blah blah. Stop watching it if you hate the show so much.

I can understand the frustration over 'this show sucks' posts (frankly, I really don't see that too often in this forum), but not every thread needs to be a lovefest, and I don't see a problem with people saying that a show is declining or an episode sucked or whatever.

Daniel-A 11-20-05 02:50 AM

Yeah, RD. I know every show has good and bad episodes (Smallville this season comes to mind). I don't like every episode of the shows that I like. And I don't want every thread to be a love fest pandering to the converted, but it gets old seeing people post nothing but dislike for a show, and continue to watch it, leading them to post more about it.

I agree totally with you. I think part of the problem is the lack of emphasis on Seth and Sandy. They are the comic glue of the show.

I will say that I'm starting to really not like the recycled storylines (ESPECIALLY the Marissa being unfaithful angle). Maybe things will be different in The O.C. - the College Years.
