Saturday Night Live - 11/5 - all commercials

Some pretty good ones. Is this a new episode or a rerun?

You mean they changed the music from the time they originally played it?

And Bad Idea Jeans - probably my favorite SNL commerical ever.

The Cluckin Chicken - the one with Donald Trump? That was on about ten minutes ago.

What the heck? Canis perfume, that one was interesting.

Huggies Thongs? That one was pretty good also.

I thought the music seemed different than what I remembered on that one. I was going to check one of my SNL DVDs that had that one. Thanks for confirming my suspiscion.

All the commercials from previous casts are superior to the present ones.

That's the truth, and it once again says a lot about the state of the show today.

Mhm. And I thought the only strength the current cast had was its commercials, but even they are inferior to previous seasons.

Wow, this show has had WAY too many commercials from the past few years. This is a huge let down.

THe original ad had Beautiful Girls by Van Halen in it....totally ruins it to not have that song. Wonder who among the VH folks vetoed it for reruns? pretty lame.

The Morgan Stanley one is now one of my favorites. And the Change Bank, of course.

I'm glad they finally updated that annoying Victoria Jackson version. Sadly, the Will Ferrell stuff was equally stupid and annoying. At least the commercials are always funny. "Don't leave the client's money lying around. Keep it in a safe place. For example: where we keep the list."

"Hi! I'm Wade Blasingame! No, not the ballplayer -- the attorney at law."

Using the song "Beautiful Girls" was part of the joke. Changing it is super-lame.

But I would think they could use the song as long as they paid for the privilege, so it was probably cheapness on the part of SNL that caused the change.

I fell asleep and missed it. However, I woke up about 2am and NBC was showing a classic episode hosted by Tom Hanks with the Nealon/Hooks/Miller/Hartman/Lovitz cast. God, I miss those days. Really put into perspective how far the mightly have fallen. I laughed at EVERY skit.

The Yard-A-Pult was the inspiration for a morbidly humorous commercial parody I did for a video project on ancient Greece in 9th grade. Along with commercials for "1-900-Aphrodite" and a soap opera about the Pelopponesian War called "The Young and the Hospitalized", I had a product that would dispose of unwanted babies (deformed, female, etc.) - which was the regular practice of the Spartans.

I think the change was done over a decade ago. I remember seeing the original version maybe twice, then the reworked version aired on TV and VHS/DVD comps ever since.

There were some great ones on the show:

Dr. Porkenheimers Boner Juice
Kotex Classic
Lower Back Tattoo Removal
Oops, I Crapped My Pants

Of course I wish they would have had:

Crotch Bat
Bid Red
Action Cats
The "I'm #1" hat
