I really hope it is good. So many of these just suck. The earthquake one years ago was suck, as I recall. I will probably record it and then read the reviews first.

well there is always "10.5: the aftermath" which should air early next year.

And considering it was pulled from November sweeps, it must be great. And, BTW, it's not the aftermath, it's "The Apocalypse," according to IMDB.

And who can forget about NBC's Poseidon Adventure remake coming up next month starring Steve Guttenberg, whose career is apparently returning from the apocalypse. :) It's the month of the disaster movie/miniseries.

Does anyone know what the plot of Cat 7 is. The whole world shakes?

I think a movie about a commet hitting Earth would be cool. Unlike Armageddon or Deep Impact, they don't stop it & only a few live.

kevin75 10-30-05 11:24 PM

it can't be better than 10.5. that was awesome!!! ;) so it looks like they are making us wait a week for part two. yeah, that's gonna keep the viewers.

mllefoo 10-30-05 11:31 PM

10.5 was the funniest movie I've seen in years.

I think it's just a bunch of big storms.

But the scale goes to 5...so why not just make it 6?

No! No, no, not 6! I said 7. Nobody's comin' up with 6....7's the key number here. Think about it. 7-Elevens. 7 doors. 7, man, that's the number. 7 chipmunks twirlin' on a branch, eatin' lots of sunflowers on my uncle's ranch. You know that old children's tale from the sea. It's like you're dreamin' about Gorgonzola cheese when it's clearly Brie time, baby. Step into my office.

raven56706 10-31-05 06:34 AM

this is going to be really bad but i cant help but think about how we will destroy the movie here

These types of movies are good for one thing only and that is to tivo and watch only the scenes where things get destroyed. We watched the last one in about 20 minutes. I suggest you do the same.

Last year's was called Category 6 so it's only logical for the sequel to be Category 7.

 Exactly!

Didn't they also make some crappy volcano one where the "climax" was some young kid who was lost and decided to climb to the top of it or something?

No way. Some of the "acting" is golden, and the scene where the earthquake makes a beeline for Bakersfield is the funniest damned thing I've ever seen. Yeah, the fault is basically a straight line from Chile all the way up to Northern California, but it just HAD to make a 90 degree turn to the right just to mess with all the evacuees from Lala land.

Derrich 11-06-05 12:33 PM

Bump for tonights airing.

There has to be a drinking game for this type of movie by now.

I'm glad that CBS is championing the return of the bad made-for-TV movie. Last week it was vampire bats and now this. Screw those Hallmark Hall of Fame movies, bring on the cheese!

There's something oddly comforting about watching something knowing it's going to suck instead of expecting it to be good & being disappointed.

kevin75 11-06-05 06:15 PM

this is gonna be great!!! to laugh at.

At least the casting is decent and Randy Quaid has experience in disaster movies-Hard Rain.

Orbi-Wan Techno 11-06-05 07:02 PM

Lousy acting, cheesy special effects, massive devastation....

I am so there. I LOVE disaster movies!

I prefer ID4... "In the words of my generation: Up Yours!"

Bronkster 11-06-05 07:51 PM

a 2-parter?! This had better not be the type thing where tonight is all build-up surrounding peoples' lives and relationships so that we'll care about their tragedy next week!

My goodness the commercials look horrible! :)

mllefoo 11-06-05 08:15 PM

All I want to see is unbridled destruction. I don't care about character development in disaster movies.

Derrich 11-06-05 08:16 PM

Gina Gershon as Mike Brown! Best castnig ever!
