Last week they nailed my feelings on the whole club scene perfectly. Then I ended up getting dragged to a club this weekend(well there was booze there so I didnt have to dragged hard).

Now I'll be going back to Western Illinois U for Halloween where my friend Paul says almost the exact same thing as Barney about how its the one night where girls go crazy with their slutttyness.

I love this show.

I'm in the show purely for Allison Hannigan. She is so unbelievably funny, she deserves to have her own show, but I am really happy with how good the show has turned out to be.

I really don't think she's as funny as everyone makes her out to be. I don't think she'd do well on her own. She fits in great with this cast, but in another setting I think she could just be tossed aside like half the 1 season come and go shows.

Would the Hanging Chad costume have even still been funny/topical in October of 2001? Was anything funny in NY in Oct 2001?

For the funny, Barney is easily the best character, but Lily is alone in second.

As far as overall best characters, Barney and Robin are the best, with Lily alone in 3rd.

Alyson is great and she makes the best out of very little. She can be funny with just an expression, which is a great benefit because her lines are often pretty corny.

Getting funnier and funnier! Best episode so far. Star Wars and Top Gun references! Loved it.

I would imagine that the "hanging chad ballot" would be his security blanket. He had it with him every Halloween...

Barney always brings the funny. Loved the change of costume, just to recover from the bad "lei-ed" line.

"I'm a horny devil..."

Barney - Best character
Robin/Lily - 2nd (Was leaning toward Robin, but then making her all weird with the relationship stuff grated on me, now they are tied for second best!)
Marshall - 3rd
Ted - Worst, and its not even close.

I am loving NPH in this show, some may say over the top. I say I know guys worse them him. Hannigan is cute and couples do stupid stuff like sharing all their food and slobbering over each other for it, But I hope they do tone it down a smidge. The Top Gun stuff was legendary! It's just funny to me to have a character wait up at night for the "Slutty Pumpkin" like Linus does in the Charlie Brown Halloween specials.

Technically, it was her scarf/shawl thingy. But I suppose it could count. I like the costume as his security blanket comment someone else made.

I don't think so. I mean that was a cute costume and all, but it would have been dated almost an entire YEAR after the election thing. I think someone really like the "How's it hanging, Chad?" joke enough to rework everything around it... which is sad because it almost ruined the whole "Great Pumpkin" homage they were trying to do.

I think the show would be just as good if Bob Saget played Ted, not just the voiceover.

Not sure the song as I'm not too familiar with the band, but according to my GF, it was Nada Surf.

They could adopt, but then the show would have to be called "How I Met Your Other Daddy".

anyone else think that somehow, even though he's called her aunt robin, ted does end up marrying robin?
like maybe robin isn't the actual name of the girl we know as robin?

Or maybe aunt is a pet name and they got marriend anyway. Kinky in a gross incest sort of way.

Bump for tonight's repeat. Ted has come from searching for the Slutty Pumpkin to nailing Robin. Not a bad year for him. Barney remains the same, thank goodness.

It's a frackin' repeat tonight? Damn it. I was hoping this year's Hallowe'en episode would have Lily dressing up as Lindsay Lohan.

And maybe doing a naked backwards crabwalk.
