'But Can They Sing?'

NEW YORK (AP) -- Joe Pantoliano, Morgan Fairchild, Kim Alexis and Carmine Gotti are among the celebrities who will compete in the new VH1 series "But Can They Sing?"

The six-week competition will premiere October 30. The winner will receive a cash donation to his or her favorite charity.

Each week, contestants will undergo training with two vocal coaches and a movement-dance instructor to prepare for their performance in front of a live studio audience.

Viewers will cast their votes online, by text messaging or by a toll-free number to decide who stays and who goes home.

The other competitors are Antonio Sabato Jr., Larry Holmes, Bai Ling, Michael Copon and Myrka Dellanos.
I recognize the names of four of those people.

... and for me, the answer is 'no'.

it's the same problem I have with a lot of these celebrity editions... if I have to look the name up to find out who the person is, are they really celebrities? Even with the D-listers and has-beens like Kathy Griffin, Vanilla Ice, Corey Feldman, etc., I at least know who they are. But some of these people are less than E-list. Frankly I'd rather see a talented unknown do something than an untrained faux celebrity. Same reason I couldn't stomach "Dancing with the Stars".
