Not liking it at all so far this season. After 11 years, I may have to say goodbye to Joey Tribbiani.

Yeah, this "new direction" really isn't doing a lot to improve the show. And if Bobbie is suppose to be a full member of the cast now, why does she not seem to be on the show more than when she was a guest-star?

I walked away at the half...and never came back. I just walked into another room to check my IM's and though I heard the show come back, I did not feel I was missing anything. This is a first for a first run episode of any show I watch.

I guess it means Joey, for me, has dropped to 'watch it if I'm duct-taped to a chair in front of the tv with my eyeylids taped open channel set to nbc and the remote batteries dead.'

This "new direction" they're headed in is taking long enough to implement. Aside from Alex dressing slutier, the show is pretty much exactly the same... and perhaps even less funny if that's possible.

After this week's episode I seriously played with the idea of moving to Everybody Hates Chris.

I gave up on this episode half way through it. It just wasn't very funny; a lot of lame jokes. Doesn't Matt himself know how much weaker the show itself is compared to "Friends"?

I dropped the show between seasons, so what is this new direction on the show?

Also, was Joey's TV series character the one to get killed off after last season, or was it Colby-from-Survivor's character that got killed off?

Joey actually ended up being the favorite to stay by a large margin. His agent got cocky and encouraged him to try to get a bigger deal. That backfired and the producers responded by killing off his character after all.

As for the new direction, Joey was going on various auditions. He accidentally tries out for a big Jerry Bruckheimer action movie and gets the lead role. So now he's (tentatively) a big movie star all of a sudden.

Ill continue to watch this until it dies off. The season premiere was a huge improvement but these last two episodes were back to the same old thing.

They need to get Joey and Alex together. We have sat through 11 years of Joey dating a ton of women. Get him with someone already and get the Friends there for the wedding during sweeps. Oh and maybe his nephew will finally have sex during November sweeps lol.

Yeah, I agree this show still needs a ton of improvements. The movie star thing is almost too silly and out there for me. It is getting almost spoofy at times. When Friends did the "Mac and Cheese" bit, at least it was awful because it was obviously a terrible syndicated show. But now he's doing these supposed big budget things and they're just as low rent and cheesy?

And this show has somehow made the Joey character smarter AND dumber at the same time. But I still get some laughs out of it here and there, so I'll keep going for awhile.

As long as his paychecks clear the bank, I doubt he really cares.

This season hasn't been much different than the first one, but I'll keep watching as long as it's on because Joey's character is so great. There are always a few laugh out loud moments, but the storylines are pretty loose.

"Awww, you broke my tummy." for some reason that had me rolling.

I thought it was Dan Cortez for a minute there.

"You gave me alcohol. It's been fifteen years... chug, chug, chug."

"I hope he landed on his head."

There was something funny about that.

Where was John Larroquette and the little 'star' from last week? Oh well.

I think if they took it more realistic of how movies are made and not tried to be so silly but then have "Joey" still be stupid it could be pretty funny.

I actually like Joey and will continue to watch it. It airs early where I live, so I have scheduling conflicts. I really like the character of Alex, and she alone can keep me coming back.

No, I think that was just a premiere week victory.

Here's last week's ratings for each:

"Joey" (households: 5.2/8, #7; adults 18-49: 2.9, #7)
"Everybody Hates Chris" (households: 3.6/6, #T12; adults 18-49: 2.2, #T11)
